Steichen’s play calling at the end was terrible having to settle for a 60 yarder. He needs to send that Bronco a Christmas card this year.

Just two games but Jones with back to back solid games. Impressed with his pocket presence.

A few interesting notes.

Colts are the first team to score on their first eleven possessions to start the season.

After two games, the Colts have yet to punt.

Danny Dimes is the 6th rated QB after two games.

Sure am happy that they pulled out the W some how yesterday. A little luck every now and then never hurts.

Am I the only one that looks at the coverage of Irsay’s daughters wearing the headset like some kind of insecure micromanaging boss trying to look important and essentially a joke? I saw it compared to a child using a disconnected video game controller to feel like they are in the game.

Supposedly she started doing it several years ago in an attempt to educate herself more about the team as she was starting to take on more responsibility. It does seem a little over the top, but I don't think she is doing it for appearance sake. It's definitely not anything new.

Until we hear reports that she is micro-managing, I actually like it. As AB2 said, she was doing this before this year. The more she learns the better she will understand when hiring and firing coaches. Her eyebrows though. Wow!

Yep, I remember seeing her on the sidelines last year wearing headphones.

You might be the only one, yes. She’s been doing this for several years now, at least since the last year of the Frank Reich era. She isn’t “micromanaging” anything, just trying to learn and be as immersed as possible as a female can be in a man’s world. There have been no reports from anyone, any former coaches or players or game day staff, not a single one, that she has ever done anything to interfere, persuade, cajole or influence what happens on game day. And there were and are plenty of characters there who would absolutely say something publicly if there had been any such instances (off the record, of course).

I know that If I owned something worth over a billion dollars, you can bet your ass I’d be on the sidelines for it.

No public reports doesn’t mean anything. I know of one staffer who misses the old man and apparently for good reason. It just seems over the top to me. Her job is to manage the brand and the org. On the field just looks silly.

And I know two staffers personally as well. Of course they miss Jim, he was a great guy. But no one in the building dislikes the girls yet. Sorry. Not sure what narrative youre trying to build, but you are flat out wrong. It’s not over the top, and it doesn’t look silly. 🤷‍♂️

I guess we hear different things. No narrative, just seeing alot of these pics with headphones on and it hit me differently.

I agree that it kind of looks silly. I disagree that she's doing it to "look important". Right now it seems to be a non-issue with anyone inside the Colts organization.

It looks different because most owners don't do this, but most owners have bought their franchise and run them like their other businesses. She grew up with the franchise and is her only business that I'm aware of. She's thinking outside the box.

She’s got a creepy/ psycho look😬
I'm telling you it's those eyebrows.

I assume we're talking about the one in the middle, right? The blonde ain't bad, the brunette on the left is okay, but the brunette in the middle does have the crazy eyes going.

Correct. They are all co-owners, and have executive roles. Carlie Irsay-Gordon (the one in the middle) is now CEO of the Colts, and the one we are talking about.

If you look at earlier pics of her she looks a little different. It looks like she might have had a little work done.

The blonde married into the legendary AJ Foyt family.

This offense has been amazing. Sanchez has only punted one time in three games? Jones just seems so comfortable. With the threat of a passing game, it's allowed Taylor to look like his old self.

Q is still laying guys out.

Defense has taken a step forward under Anarumo.

Ballard may have saved his job.

I sort of have always felt this, but it felt irreverent recently in the wake of JI’s death…I think Jim Irsay possibly was holding Ballard back from actually doing his job.

Interesting take. In what way?

I think there's a pretty decent sample size out there that meddlesome owners who try and micromanage their teams can tend to impede the ability of the GM. Jim, for a fact, was at some points pretty demanding on personnel decisions--the pick and management of AR being probably one of the biggest examples.

I never got the feeling Irsay was that type of owner or read anything to give me that impression. You may be right. Now that he's gone, we might start hearing a few stories.

I took my son to the game yesterday as I live in Nashville. The stadium was about 40% Colt fans. The crowd booed pretty mercilessly at halftime and at the owner when he inducted Mike Keith into their ring of owner. We saw Carlie on the sidelines with her sun hat, headset and boots.

Daniel Jones looked good and mobile and it was cool seeing JT break one in person. Jones killed the Titans with PA bootleg all day. Cam Ward looked good too after that pick 6 that happened right in front of us.

On TV you could tell a lot of Colt fans made the trip. Looked like there were a lot of empty seats as well. On the broadcast, Tucker jokingly said he wondered if Steichen was trying to set a record for most bootlegs in a game. Keep running it until they stop it.
