I guess the bright side is the Colts will be in position to have a top ten pick again. Maybe a QB given this is the third time he's missed time due to injury? lol

Colts got hosed today on calls. Two big ones at the end especially but plenty of questionable calls throughout the day to save the Browns.

Completely agree—but I’m at the point where I want them to compete every week, but lose…and draft MHJ.
The difference between Steichen and Reich is stark… Reichs teams were rarely competitive, while Steichens teams are in every game. It will be interesting to see year two whether they take a step forward and start to actually win or not.

I rarely complain about officiating, but This game today was horseshit. It’s stuff like that that fuels the NFL is rigged talk.

Shaq Leonard released. Couldn’t fully recover from the back injury. Too bad, he was a tackling and turnover machine.

“If My Black Mother Dorothy was still alive”

seems like a fun statement considering his parents were Robert and Harriet Irsay. Hoping nobody gives him a chance to expand on that statement…

It’s amazing how a guy can be so charitable, face those struggles and then say some crap like that.

Taylor to have surgery thumb surgery today. Expected to miss 2 to 3 weeks.

Bummer as he’s been running the rock really good of late and Indy is fighting for a playoff spot.

Yeah, he was starting to regain his old form. Fortunately there is a very capable backup ready to go.

Bummer last night for both the Colts and my parlay. Still can’t believe they missed that 4th down conversion.

On the bright side I guess, they exceeded expectations, at least mine heading into the season. Here’s to hoping Richardson is the real deal.

I feel for Goodson. Dude shouldn’t have been in that spot. You’re gonna stake your season on a tough pass to a practice squad guy, you’re gonna have a bad time.

That’s on Steichen and Minshew.

He took responsibility for it so kudos to him. A spectacular case of a HC overthinking. Just give the ball to JT.

Loyalty AND watching requires me to write that the best player on the Colts roster is Quentin Nelson.
He plowed furrows all evening as usual. Sorry if that's too ND and OLine excessive, but that's me.

Minshew won 9 games with a pretty sorry cast. That was disappointing, but I can’t hate on the guy. He a backup, he knows it. I’m very concerned about ARs durability. Can’t be in that spot next year, the guy has to play a full season, or we have to go looking for a new franchise QB. Again.

I’ll put this here. I keep hearing how this Dolphin’s offense is good. They’re not

I watch him on almost every play.

Regarding the finish of the game:
1. Not a good call by Steichen. You want to trick the D? Put both Taylor and Moss in the backfield.
2. Steichen shouldn't have had Goodson in there.
3. Minshew is decent, but that throw on 4th down is a good example of why he's a backup. He's way too inconsistent.

Colts still need to find a LT. Also a decent backup for RT. The drop off in performance between Smith and his backup is startling. Smith has been injury prone the last three years.

Overall I think the Colts are going in the right direction with Steichen. One thing that bugs me is his propensity to try and fake the opponent into jumping offsides on 4th down. It never works. Especially when you try it several times a game. Did Frank Reich leave his playbook behind? He did it all the time as well and it never worked.

Personally would've preferred Moss on that final drive as JT was severely lacking in explosiveness or push because of his injury.
I didn't mind the play call or the personnel (after hearing Steichen's backstory)
Even if we converted that 4th down play, I had little confidence that we would be able to score a touchdown.
We lost because Minshew had a crappy game.

The silver lining is that we have a better draft pick than making the playoffs and getting bounced after the first game.
