Colts have given Taylor until Tuesday when rosters get set to make a deal. Sounds like the Dolphins are trying to put something together but they’ve already traded some picks and are at the cap.

Surprising to me. JT certainly is a talent, but this would go against the current movement of value in RBs.

Looks like the trades fell through. Taylor on the PUP and will miss the first four games. Next move is Taylor's.

Interesting because all of the local talk here in Indy never had GB in the conversation. Miami, Denver and Chicago were the only ones mentioned. With the trade deadline October 31, Taylor will have four games to play in after he comes off the PUP to show other teams he's healthy. Regardless, I think it's safe to say Taylor won't be here next year which is unfortunate because he's a great kid.

He wouldn't take a physical for any team.

The colts weren't even offered a 2nd round pick for him.

Why would the Colts just give him away?

Colts won’t pay Taylor but expected to get Waddle back in a trade from the Dolphins.

Jim Irsay to Jerry Jones, “hold my beer”.

The whole “RB summit over pay” really got to the kids head and twisted him. Also, I think he’s getting really poor advice from his handlers, it’s too bad. Irsay is Crazy loyal, too much so, IMO, to players. JT would have gotten his and more. Now he will likely go somewhere else, get workhorsed, they will drain him in a year or two, and he will never have a true home. It’s a real shame.

I don't think the Colts would give him away, but if he plays in six games this year, he will become a FA after this year. Anything less he's still a Colt is my understanding. Where did you hear he wouldn't take a physical? If true, then maybe his ankle isn't totally healed?

IIRC, he got a new agent this year which is what started all of this. Then Irsay said the obvious in public and feelings were hurt. It is a shame.

Packers offered Dillon and a 3rd for JT supposedly. Dillon may be in a contract year though

I’d likely have taken that if I were the Colts. The absolute best you get from a comp pick is a 3rd, and that’s assuming JT would have gotten them that and it wouldn’t have been lowered by other FA spending. Plus the comp picks are at the very end of the round vs wherever the Pack would have been picking. If you really find it unlikely you’ll keep JT then trading him for that package is a good move.

Sorry but what a delusional take.

I would not mind a package of Jones or Dillon packaged with a pick or two.

I don't understand it for Packers tho. You have a rb on rookie contract and another very good rb who is actively taking a pay cut. If you trade for JT ur gonna sign him to the $ he wants.

Listened to Ballard's PC yesterday on the way home. Addressed the Taylor situation right up front. Handled it very well. I suspect if Irsay wasn't involved, Taylor would be on the 53 man roster instead of the PUP right now. That's assuming his ankle truly hasn't healed.

Colt seem to be asking for way too much for a running back they do not seem to even value enough to give a pay raise.
You could make a similar argument about the Dolphin and Packers, right? Willing to pay big but not trade picks of similar value?

Taylor probably would have gotten a new contract if he hadn’t torn up his ankle. Given his ankle is still suspect, Irsay wasn’t going to do that until Taylor showed he was healed.

If you are the packers and dolphins (both not needing RBs) you are buying from a position of leverage knowing how much their owner doesn’t put a big value on their asset. Why not kick the tires and try to buy low? I think they probably offered what they thought true colts valued Taylor.

But, that's the biggest point of contention. The Colts aren't even willing to do that.

They won't pay him because they think his ankle is suspect. But, they expect other teams to value him, in a trade, as if his ankle is not? Total BS.

I think part of this is turning out the way it has is because of Taylor’s new agent. He basically pissed off Irsay which Irsay didn’t appreciate. It all went downhill from there.

He won’t be here next year so he might as well trade him now.

A lot of these hold outs are bs. I don’t care if you like it or not but the player and the agent agreed to the initial contract. You still have one year left on it so if you hold out you are only making your self look bad. The player agreed to this contract. And the player has busted their ass to earn a larger contract when this on expires.

I hope the colts don’t trade him and he sits so the. He had no stats for his up coming contract and it cost him money. And I am not sure how the contracts are explained but the colts should then turn around and file a grievance against him.

But the owner should still keep his mouth shut to the media.

What a crazy game yesterday. Down one and 99 yards to go with about three minutes left. You take a safety so you're now down three and have to kick the ball away. I thought it was over when they had to go 99 yards, yet the Colts D holds and the O gets another chance. Gay ties it, then wins it with another 53 yarder. Gay kicked three 53 yard long FG's and another from 54 yards. The D is playing well above expectations, but even the untrained eye can see Minshew isn't the answer. His accuracy on the long balls is more miss than hit.

I’m not sure the defense can continue to play at this level, but even if they can play above average, the preseason projections for this team will have been way off. Gay earned is $$ yesterday for sure and Zack Moss isn’t doing JT any favors with his play, either. That was a really good win that FRANKly (see what I did there?) we would’ve lost last year.

Speaking of crazy games, did anyone else catch that Madden showing down in Miami yesterday? A freaking 70 spot they put up. Tua stays healthy he may win the MVP.
