These two situations look similar to you?

Fucking retard.

Not at all - unarmed protesters versus armed protesters. If you can't tell the difference you are not a serious person.

Worst insurrection ever - they all forgot to bring their guns. Dipshit.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve read in quite some time.

Or, the left does not want to see America reduced to a place where federal agents swarm communities as an act of political retribution.
Circling back, what is so dumb? The left is led by a lot of foreigners. Hippies have always been hippies, they just now have allies with foreigners. The gays and Muslims seem to working well together in their cause. Whether it’s anti Israel, Gay stuff, immigration… it’s the white hippies that are dying and protesting for all of them.

I think the most sane demographic of the Democratic Party is the black people. A black person is killed by a cop it’s 99% black people rioting and protesting with only a sprinkle of white hippie antifa agitators. The take care of their own.

Who here has actually lived and worked in another country?
If your visa runs out, you are fucked. No one cares. No one would ever fight their own countrymen over whether i get to stay in Japan illegally after my visa expires. This is absurd dumbass USA first world nonsense type shit. If someone stays in a country illegally or sneaks in, there is little excuse to not send them back.
But now thel eft has decided to sendpeople back is awful nazi behavior. WTF is wrong with people.
I work overseas, if I just decide to stay without a visa, noone will give a rat's ass of sympathy. Why is America "evil" for trying to follow the same rules? It's all complete bullshit.
Everyone is trying so hard to do mental gymnastics and paint the criminals as victims and the people trying to follow the rules as Nazis.
Watching this shit from overseas is making my brain melt. The lefties are verifying every absurd stereotype.
Second, if I was an illegal immigrant in another country, I would like to think if I saw citizens rioting over me andliterally dying, I'd feel extremely fucking awful, but somehow we just excuse the illegal immigrants and call each other fascists.... How insane is this guys?
Are we really going to further fracture our country because non americans are breaking the law.?

Amen brother. What happens if you birth a child while working overseas?

Tim Walz (amongst others) is calling for civil war over this. Dems yet again picking a terrible issue to suddenly go to the mat for state's rights.

Imagine if the elected leaders said people like you are the fabric of their country… I’m sure the locals would immediately rush to the street to die for you.

Hold up. Birthright citizenship is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment. The present day issue. that I believe you are referring to, is Trump issuing an Executive Order to not recognize birthright citizenship.

Are you in favor of a President having the ability to issue an EO to override a Constitutional Amendment? I doubt you are.

I think you need to look at the intent of the Amendment. It was so that slaves that came from Africa were seen as US Citizens. Otherwise they would have all been deported potentially. It was never meant for people to cross the border illegally and have babies.

LOL do you even hear yourself? In order to defend yourself you apparently need to let someone hit you. Commie punk bitch - just admit it.
You seem to really hate commies. This shit must piss you off as much it pisses me off. Disgusting that America is heading towards Authoritarianism led by a commie bastard.

Under Trump’s leadership, the government has already taken stakes in Intel, U.S. Steel and MP Materials.

His deals this summer with Nvidia and AMD illustrate this clearly. Both companies were told to surrender 15% of certain China sales in exchange for export licenses. It’s an arrangement that more closely resembles a protection racket than economic policy. The Constitution forbids export taxes, yet this administration treats them as bargaining chips, casually folded into one-man negotiations.

Akin to Mao Zedong directing business decisions as a part of his wildly disastrous Great Leap Forward central economic planning initiative, Trump has plunged the US government headfirst into an unprecedented active role in directing private business decision-making and capital flows. Last month, he ordered Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey to replace cane sugar with other sweeteners that the firm uses, despite the lack of scientific evidence supporting such a move and despite the fact that the CEO of Coca-Cola is accountable to his board and shareholders, not Donald Trump.

To approve Nippon Steel’s $14.9 billion acquisition of US Steel, Trump secured a “golden share,” granting him (or a designee) veto power over major decisions—functionally, a controlling stake.

I agree, and I think people should not be coming to America to have babies and take advantage of birthright citizenship. Still, can't fix it with an EO.

What happened to limits on power? My god

Don’t you think intent matters? If the intent of something is broke, the remedy is to fix it.

I guess we will see… Trump v Barbara.

I would like to see someone respond to ThomasGraham. I think his post is spot on.
There's really nothing to respond to. There's a lot of straw man arguments in there.

I don't think anybody is arguing for blanket immunity for illegal immigrants. I've run through it dozens of times now.

The issue, and I think most agree, is with the tactics and targeting people with long standing ties to communities, rather than prioritizing those with criminal history. People have consistently pointed to Obama Administration policy is a method that is both effective and made sense.

Due process, prioritizing recent border crossers and criminals, having a path to citizenship or legal residence for people who have been here for a long time and have done nothing wrong, refraining from dropping federal agents in mass into neighborhoods to antagonize the political opposition, not going door to door, not using underqualified agents who think they're macho badass now because they went through 8 weeks of training...

Blanket immunity isn’t even the point. The point is just simply enforcing laws. Those same laws that other countries don’t paint their pink and die in streets for. If we can’t agree on that then everything else is just a waste of time.

I’ll also add this. There are 1.5 million people that have been court ordered through immigration and customs court system/judges that are on a list to deport. This is the list DHS and ice is using to find and round up and deport. Some of them are in jail, but the local law-enforcement will not hand them over. These are the people that idiots are risking their lives on the street to protect. ICE is not just walking down the street looking for accents or brown people or even walking randomly door-to-door. Fake news has done its job if that is what you believe.

See it all starts to get very confusing. Do we want to expand or contract foreign influence on the United States?

I'll say it again, very slowly this time. There are better, more effective, more sensible ways to enforce the laws than this.

What is currently happening is not just about enforcing the laws and you know it.

You won’t like my answer. Contract. Multiculturalism is a failed endeavor.

On both sides. Immigration is one of the most political talking points in the US… on BOTH SIDES, why is that?

It never has been. Which has been the problem and why we have 1.5 million the courts have said to deport that we can’t find and local government has zero interest in helping but are politically motivated to prevent, why?

Great points made. I’m glad we agree a strong male role model is essential.

That's quite the backlog. Which is why it would make sense to have a more sensible strategy than what we're seeing. It's almost like you're proving my points for me.

A Myanmar refugee nursing a five-month-old, arrested and shipped to Texas. A Mexican man who sustained severe skull injuries during an arrest by ICE and was shackled in the hospital against doctors’ wishes. A Kenyan woman detained after picking up seizure medication. A Ukrainian refugee arrested for no apparent reason.

In other words, an ordinary weekend for federal judges in Minnesota during Operation Metro Surge, the Trump administration’s mass deportation push in the Twin Cities.

The district’s seven full-time judges and 10 partially retired judges have been inundated by hundreds of emergency lawsuits from immigrants targeted by ICE during the operation. They’re working weekends to manage the backlog and juggling a crush of individual cases under intense national attention.

And in all but a handful of cases, those judges have ruled that the Trump administration violated the law, sometimes flagrantly.
The judges, representing appointees of nearly every president since Ronald Reagan, have grown increasingly alarmed by what they see as a pattern of defiance by the administration, shocking behavior by ICE and rampant targeting of people with no criminal history, despite Trump’s claim to be targeting “the worst of the worst.”

Im not a gambling man, but you sound like one of the people that actually want this to turn into revolution. What responsible adult calls people bootlicking? Is that supposed to be a negative to want to support order and law over chaos? Jesus, I stopped doing that puerile "the man is bad" crap in high school(ok maybe college...;)). Sure Rage against the machine makes sense if you haven't experience the real world.
Next you are gonna to say that it's ok to steal from corporations, right?

Local jurisdictions typically do not enforce federal law. They enforce state and municipal laws. They're not feds. Immigration law or otherwise.

It’s hard without local compliance.

There’s always a reason. Policing and the law isn’t ever pretty.

Our immigration system is littered with immigration lawyer ambulance chasers. I’m not surprised.

Rather sure nobody has said Pretti deserved to have been shot. It's a tragedy that he was shot, and it was completely avoidable.

His interfering actions put him in a position where bad things could happen. In his case, the "baddest" of the bad things occurred.

So, to be clear, you think he didn't "deserve" to be shot but you believe his actions were the direct and proximate cause of him getting shot, with no intervening bad actions by anyone else who might be morally or legally culpable for his death?

Like allocate blame for me here. What are your X and Y values:

Pretti = X% at fault
Ice officer = Y% at fault

Nobody is asking for enforcement. It’s easier to get a prisoner from foreign countries than it is from democratic states or cities. Just simple compliance. Part of my job is to be a liaison for different federal agencies and even local. We have a loooong list of US cities and states that don’t comply not matter what. Sure they don’t have to but sometimes it’s just as easy as complying with a simple FOIA request but they refuse. What hilarious is we will use contractors or operate as civilians and we have better luck obtaining, which is hilarious.

Why would any state comply with a FOIA request? That doesn't apply to them, there are state equivalent laws that do.

Symantec’s. Sure each locality might call this something else, Sunshine Laws, Open Records, etc… some local agencies actually call it a FOIA request. My point is they don’t follow their own local laws.

The only difference lol. One person was in a swarm of people breaking into a federal building and overtaking a small number of officers. The other is being detained and disarmed by 8 officers.

The biggest difference is that you agreed with her cause and sympathized with her motivations.
