On a serious note, and from having coached high school football in a ghetto:

I've seen way too many kids concentrate on having the swag and not on working hard to get better. Too many kids think they are Mike Vick calling their own plays, even a D-I level RB who couldn't stop telling his teacher to "**** off" (thus getting suspended and only playing one game) because he was "the swag man." Too many of today's youth are blinded by the assclowns in the NFL/NBA with loud mouths and think that is the key to being a stud.

It's awfully tough to explain to kids that the great players don't make every tackle or make every interception, they simply do their jobs on every given play. You don't leave your zone to try and snag a pic on your own accord, or abandon your gap to simply chase the ball carrier. Teams full of those guys often suck. I don't know, I've just seen too many kids make a big play, celebrate like he just won the lottery and bragging about swag at the top of his lungs, and then proceed to get burnt badly the other 9/10 plays because he was doing his own thing.

Don't get me wrong, I was a loud mouth when I played the game. I was very vocal pumping my guys up and celebrating after big hits. But I also knew I outworked any one those other guys (I was a 220lb guy wrestling 285, hard work was my key to success) and I did my job on every play and let big things come to me.

All in all, swagger is done AFTER you put in the work and it's what makes an A athlete an A+ athlete, it doesn't make a C+ athlete a better athlete, it just embarrasses him. Too many kids don't understand that and this "swag" fad pisses me off immensely.

His throwing mechanics remind me exactly of Brett Favre. WOW! He has an awesome arm. And when he runs he runs like Reggie Bush. That's one helluva combination. He is for sure our quarterback of the future. Anyone else agree?

Yeah, this just hit me awfully hard this morning. Only 1 month away, practice starts on Saturday, I think. All I can think about is getting to the stadium at 8 am on Sept 3rd. I may start up the Fight Song at any momment while sitting in my cubicle. I have no control over it.
