I just figured out the silver lining!!!!!

Seriously. So we always have one or two gut wrenching, table breaking, forum getting banned from ( applies to me) , come close to having the wife leave you( again applies to me), games a year ( last year see, Tulsa, UM, Mich ST).

Well folks this year one of them is already in the books and it wasn't against a rival and we have the rest of the year to make it up!! WHOOP WHOOT!!! Now if we can just maybe have one more against a non rival team that isn't terrible we can still have a great season!! . I tell you this, I would not want to be SCUM right now, there is an *** whippiing a coming for the scummies this week.

It's true. Ending September 3-1 would be excellent, and if I had to pick one team to lose to in there, USF would probably be it.

And really, USF didn't beat ND. ND beat ND. If we've got to lose to someone, it might as well be ourselves. Those types of problems are the easiest to fix.

This assumes we beat scUM though. On paper, we're a better team, and should absolutely come away with the win. But if we somehow find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again, we'll probably go into a tailspin.

Try living in West Virginia. People hate on some Notre Dame, and not because they are Notre Dame, but because the Irish beat them for the National Championship. And 9 out of 10 mountaineer fans swear up and down if Major Harris didnt get hurt, they wouldve won. (I hear this argument alot and my own family tells me that I'm adopted and I should live in Indiana)

Another silver lining: there's no way for Michigan to plan an attack against ND based on Saturday's game film. It was all too surreal. 500 total yards of offense but still a loss. Effortless 90 yard opening drive but QBs bouncing passes off their receiver's heads. So many turnovers and penalties it's like the Irish were practicing them.

Cierre got winded a little early in this game, we need a 2nd running back who can come in and give him a breather. Cierre is a dynamic runner, but he is still adjusting to the pounding a featured back faces. This is equally as important as who plays QB for us. Jonas, Cam, Atkinson, whomever can step up and give us quality reps to spell 20 is the key to our season as well.

My traditional college night out pre game was to shotgun 6 beers before going out!
I can handle 5! But that was over 5 years ago now.

I see #20 easily eclipsing 200 yards on the season come Saturday.

I'm not sure what the expect from their DL. They don't have much in the way of depth, so our OL should be able to put them on rollerskates late in the 2nd half. But before that? DL is supposed to be the strength of their defense.

If we can run against the scUM DL early like we did against USF, we'll be in very good shape.

I got some of that fine china that won't break. Threw a tea cup at the wall and not even a chip. My recommendation is stay away from that. It makes you even more angry and will win the battle with your head. As a fellow IE brother, I feel I have to give good advice.


Who drinks out of tea cups anymore btw? Unless you still have the college instincts as I do and if dishes are dirty you turn to them last, even after the hidden set of 50 solo cups I keep on hand. Never know when a Slap Cup game will come up.

I don't know how I missed this but my God is it true. Virginia Tech didn't have a single pre-season ranked team on their ENTIRE SCHEDULE this year. And lost to freaking JAMES MADISON. yet they are basically a lock for at least 9 wins and a shot at the conference title because of the joke that is their conference/schedule.
