How Is U$C Doing It?

I know that U$C got busted for recruiting violations and they lost 20 scholarships over the next two years. However, if you look on rivals, they have 23 football players committed for next season. I thought that they were only allowed 15 over the next two seasons? How are they doing this?

EEs

EEs

USC is slipping through another loophole. Six of the players 4 High School, and two JUCO transfers are early enrollees. They can bring in up to 10 EEs and it doesn't count against the 2011 limit of 20.

USC is appealing the suspension....but they self imposed a 1 year bowl ban and a loss of 5 scholarships a year. Expect them to use all 28 scholarships that are available to them for this class.

it will eventually hit them, don't worry.

from what i understand the more they take this year, the less they can take next year and so on.

i think it was a loss of 30 schollies over the next three years the way they choose to lose those 30 is on them, they can only lose two this year and go ahead and have to lose 28 somewhere in the next two years.

i could be wrong but i think this is how it goes. somewhere along the line they will be losing an entire group of kids they would have normally gotten. and that will hurt, doesn't matter how good your program is.

From what I've heard they only "self-sanctioned" 5 schollies and a 1 year bowl ban. Thanks to Cam Newton, I think we can expect the punishment to be reduced on this appeal. Oh well.

I can see USC pulling the Cam Newton defense. "Ughhh we didnt know that Reggie Bush was taking money under the table, so you cant punish us." Bunch of scum bags...

The NCAA has unleashed the dogs of war. As long as the "athlete" "doesn't know", the family can negotiate with any booster and the program is perfectly safe from sanctions.
Long live the SEC and the PAC10+!!

as long as they don't pull the chewbacca defense, there's a chance that they lose the appeal.

^^This. They will lose 30 total (pending appeal). In 2-3 years, they will be okay because of this class. After it graduates, they'll be relying on lots of freshmen and sophomores.

kiffy is selling everything he can. he thinks he needs to have a team that is at least decent the next few years so he will sell his soul to the devil to do it. and he has to do all of this knowing that he is not a very good football coach.

turns out bull**** doesnt win football games, even though it gets kids to make bad decisions.

You nailed it. The NCAAs decision to let Cam Newton play is going to open up a floodgate that will be impossible to close. This is going to create so many problems in the future.

The more obvious one to me is the blind eyes that were turned towards (or away from) O$U. How the NCAA allowed them to play in the $ugar bowl is mind bending.

Amen. Nothing said how ridiculous the NCAA is quite like this did. No matter what they're whole "there is loophole" excuse is, you will never be able to convince me that those guys playing in that bowl was just.

Hopefully the fact that the Basketball program was corrupt as well, will force the NCAA to keep the sanctions as is.

USC is appealing the punishment. They can recruit as normal until the case is resolved.

They are probably doing it by offering luxury vehicles for the recruits to drive for their tenure at USC and allowing them and their families to live in homes on the beach for no rent.

It won't hurt them a bit. They can grey shirt all they want to their farm clubs and bring them up when needed. (Unless the NCAA fixes the JC mess.)
