40 lbs here boys.

Calorie counting. That is mostly it.

And some weight lifting, although heavy weights make me hungry enough to eat the arse end of a dead horse...

Somive attempted lighter weight, higher reps, and cardio.

80% diet. 20% exercise.

I haven't really paid attention to this topic before but maybe i should. I had my Fire dept phyiscal the Thursday and was 205. I would be excited to get back to about 190-195. But the first thing i need to do is quit drinking soda.

Well as of today I'm down 37 lbs. I've been waiting to post hoping I'd be able to say 40 lbs gone, but I'm gonna have to work for the next three.

How's everyone else doing?

Dude I never really "dieted."

Only calorie counting.

And yes.

If I start to over eat, I have to reconvene the calorie counting.

That, or run.

I wished I liked running more. ;)

Running is boring. Unless you have a book. (It's nice to throw books at other people running.)

Must be the shoes. No, strike that--probably the enema.

LOL no enema's here! I've found or rediscovered some healthy foods that I actually like A LOT.....and I'm working out 3 or 4 times a week.

Almond butter.

Buffalo and turkey.

Coconut water.

Dried blueberies and cranberries.

I have an orange everyday.

Raw almonds.

Dark chocolate.

Fish.

Right now I'm fluctuating between 8-12 lbs down from when I started. I haven't been consistent working out as scheduling conflict restricts that to a point. Necessary stuff like mowing the lawn and such I use as workouts and walking the dog with my wife. The biggest thing I have been doing is cutting down on my portions and changing the foods I eat dramatically. I now either have oatmeal or a skim milk/strawberry/protein powder smoothie in the morning to get me going. I drink green tea in the morning instead of coffee to keep the metabolism going. Have a light lunch, usually a PBJ, then dinner is a meat like steak or chicken with asparagus, portabello mushrooms, green beans, or salad.

As far as supplements I take two red yeasts pills a day. Two fish oils a day and a folic acid pill.

The biggest difference I have noticed is in my chest. Scary being 28 but it definitely can happen as I have seen recently in my life with a friend. Having more energy to do stuff is big. I'll get back to my pre half-marathon weight and I will run another one for validation that I got back to where I wanted and should be.

Great job! Sounds like you're in pretty good shape already. I'm gonna do a half-marathon next week, but just as a spectator : )

Don't diet. To lose lots of weight, you need to make permanent lifestyle changes. I know it's tough. Two years ago, I was a workout-aholic, and was down to about 7 percent body fat. Best shape of my life. Then, I got a promotion, and I stopped working out and decided to not care anymore. Results? Gained 40 pounds.
Started working out again March 1 and already down 25 pounds again.

If you struggle with knowledge on what workouts to do, get P90x. It's for real, will kick your *** and change your life.

As for the food you eat. NEVER drink soda.
Eat tasty foods, but portion control.
Eat slower, your body takes a bit to feel like it's full.
Get good rest, everyday, regularly. Your body needs it.

Every morning I hate 1 cup dry outs with skim milk and bananas and 1 cup of egg beaters.

Chicken, sweet potatoes, asparagus, salmon, maybe a protein shake, fruits rest of day.

Don't get caught up in eating after 7 p.m,, just don't fill your body full of crap.

Stop eating sugar and limit your sodium.

Good luck to everyone trying to get healthier

50 pounds gone! WOOOHOOOO!!!

Green and Oolong tea may be the secret to health and weight loss.

No Diet Pepsi for two week now.

That's awesome man! I love me some oolancha too! That's what my wife calls it, she's a native. I used to drink a liter of that stuff after a night of drinking on that amazing country!
