Yeah, he's on CBS. Dierdork was beyond awful for Monday Night Football, to the point that it almost made the games unwatchable for me. In a 3-man booth on the biggest stage for football, he had to fight to be heard and so he made the dumbest comments/jokes throughout the game. Now he's on CBS, and I can't believe I'm writing this, but he's actually pretty good. In a 2 man booth, he's much more relaxed and he adds to the broadcast instead of taking away from it.

seriously, does anyone actually like listening to these guys? i have been watching ND games for quite some time and am quite fed up with the repeated stories, bad jokes, obvious observations, and redundant commentary. most fans i have talked to agree that these guys just flat out suck. why does NBC even keep them around?

Yup...and he's really pulling for Danny Bonaduce to be either his sidekick on camera or the band director like Doc Severensen for Johnny or Max Weinberg who's currently on Conan. They're leaning to band director at this point because Bonaduce is so proficient on the triangle and he can play the spoons.

Nah...I can't remember what the hell I was listening to, but he ripped the crap out of the Irish for no reason. It had nothing to do with the team, their schedule, etc....he just decided to drop a bomb on our boys. He can basically go die and be buried with his father, Joseph Paterno-Blackledge as far as I'm concerned.

I'd shoot myself in the eye and root for the USC Gangsters if they EVER hired Costas. He is beyond bad. I don't even like him when he does baseball, and that's his thing. He's perfect for the studio, but NOT play-by-play. Thankfully, that'll never happen, so there's no worry there...

Actually, his dad is Ron Blackledge, a Steelers assistant in the Steel Curtain days.

I am finding it increasingly hard to listen to these bumbling idiots! If Haden used his "...on the map" comment one more time, I was going to lose it. However, it would have been a good drinking game if we had known about it ahead of time.

Hammond doesn't even watch the same game. He makes comments that don't even make sense sometimes. He kept pronouncing LAOLAGI as "La-longy" and he just sounds like an idiot.

Sorry to re-hash an old thread. These guys are just plain awful!
