I've been watching General Hospital since I was 9 years old. Don't judge me :)

Not a problem. I "got into" All My Children my sophomore year at ND – 1971. A classmate, who manipulated his schedule to not include any classes before 1 PM, would rally the troops to watch the show. We would use a marker to draw eyeglasses and mustaches on the screen as characters appeared. We would then wait to see if any other characters matched up to our doodles.

Our favorite character was Nick. He seemed to have a Scotch in his hand regardless of the time of day. As it turned out Susan Lucci, who played/plays Erika, was a high school classmate of a cousin. I used to watch the show with my dear, dear Irish grandmother when I was home on vacation. My father (Nana's son), after he retired, often joined our little klatch and referred to Erika as "Erotica."

Good times, good memories.

Daytime serials --- Soap Operas --- beat the **** out of Jerry Springer and Judge flavor-of-the-day.

I don't appreciate your use of curse words. Profanity. That kinda thingy and I will report you. I am a softball player that wears full ewequipment. Myself knows what I speak to.

I don't use no cursey cursive curse wordies. I use asterisk strings.

What you do with your Mary Had a Little Lambs is not of my concern.

Stick to the forest and stay out of the meadow.

You are very perceptive Doctor Mike. Yesterday was my most "do nothing" day in my life. I didn't even read the paper. Just watched TV. Aside from neighbors knocking and axing me to come on over (which I did, 3 times) I did NOTHING yesterday. It was cool, but in retrospect, what a waste of a day. lol. My total waste of a day was actually a topic of conversation while I sat with the neighbors and watched essentially nothing on TV.

Hanging out with the neighbors was cool, but I feel like I sinned by accomplishing...well...nothing.

I have developed this strange affinity for the disco music I totally despised in high school. Especially KC and the Sunshine Band. I feel like I'm having some sort of mid-life meltdown, but I just can't help it.

Give me a call, Nanker, the next time you're feeling this disco fetish. I'll do my best to talk you down.

If that doesn't work I'll pull out a case of beer and crank up the volume (to 11, of course) on all things Rolling Stones.

It's the least I can do to help a friend in dire need.

Thanks, Neutered, but I like this one better:

<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/IgZOYt5kH9Q" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And this one:

<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/RKoZMke594A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And this:

<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/tSuoR4m9O70" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I know, it's sick (and not in the way the youngsters on this board use that word. I mean, REALLY sick). To think, I was one of those who almost rioted in anger and disgust when they blasted the BeeGees over the loudspeakers between bands at the Stones concert in '78 at Soldier Field. Now, I'd have this stupid blank smile on my face and be dancing around. Oh, God, what am I coming to!

Yeah, that's akin to the headlines I've seen lately. Like "Revelations Turning Up the Heat On Weiner." Or, "Did Media Mismanagement Come Back to Bite Weiner?" I'd love to have a job writing this stuff.

Part of a comment by a reporter yesterday (can't remember if it was CNN or MSNBC): "...when the Weiner mess exploded."

Guilty pleasure about a movie and song I posted on another thread the other day: Song was YouTube - ‪The Clash at Demonhead - Black Sheep‬‏ The song is actually created by Metric and sung by Emily Haines, but the movie version, which sounds almost identical is sung by Brie Larson, the actress in the movie..

The movie was "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World." A few days ago, I had the movie on in the background as I did other things, but I kept chuckling at the silliness of the movie, so I stopped to watch parts. Last night it showed again and I watched most of it. A chuckle every 10 seconds. Kinda sorta like "Scrubs" humor. I made sure to close the windows and lock the doors so nobody would know I was watching.

Well, I don't feel so guilty anymore. Apparently several critics listed it as a top 10 movie for 2010, and it won Movie of the Year and Best Actor at the International Press Academy Awards. I have never heard of that Academy, but... I normally am bored by fight scenes, especially sword fight scenes in movies, since they run on and on and on. But fight scenes in this movie were kinda fun, and music was actually good. I would not be surprised if it is not already a high school or college cult classic.

Funny comment I read about the movie, from a director not involved with the movie (I think): "At a test screening, director Kevin Smith was impressed by the film saying 'That movie is great. It's spellbinding and nobody is going to understand what the **** just hit them'."

This post will self-edit in 10 hours.

I dug "Laguna Beach," "The Hills," and the one with the hottie Whitney Port.

I was initially allowing my wife some TV time.

And then I was hooked.

Love me some "Grease."
