If BK is deciding between Crist and Rees for the start, and Rees wins as you predict, why does Hendrix move ahead of Crist for the 2 spot?

Again its a prediction and the reason I say this is because Crist has been given many opportunities....Hendrix will see the field this year. There has been many rumors that he may leave if he doesnt get a shot.

What say you? who is 1 2 3 4 string?

its all about who is better between hendrix and golson. right now people think ev golson is behind Rees on Kelly's chart. what we want and what goes on with this team aren't the same thing.

Dude is dayne crist posting on this forum under the name "Kuehnja"??

seriously, IT IS OVER. Tommy's results were head and shoulders above. If dayne hasn't turned the corner yet it means he's not gonna.
I agree with hendrix as the backup...and saving Golson for next year.

That SI preseason prediction is coming true. Hendrix will see the field because every qb playing in kelly's system will get hurt at some point if history is any indicator. Tommy's going down at some point, even if it's only for a half or a game.

--can you guys imagine the qb competition next yr??? tommy, hendrix, and golson battling it out in a crazy derby.

I agree. I think we got a season's worth of stupid penalties and sloppy turnovers out of our system against USF. Time to move on and be the team we know we are. Michigan is not in an enviable position, in my mind.

No, not whoever starts will win. if crist starts he will not win. he either stays in the whole time and loses, or he leaves losing and Rees wins the game, or can't dig out of the Crist hole for a second straight week.

I don't know, the consensus on this board is that if Crist played all of last years game, ND would have won easily. I see no reason he could not do the same this year. Alot of the early mistakes were not ALL Crist fault. He did have some bad throws but so did Rees.

again - what football team are you people watching? Crist can barely snap the ball without something going wrong. causing false starts on audibles, he missed a lot of really easy throws and made ZERO good ones. Rees is clearly better and its not close.

blows my mind that people who know this much about football don't see this.

No way Golson plays ahead of Hendrix. Not gonna happen. If Rees starts against scUM, I expect to see Hendrix run some sort of package offense, probably in the red zone.

According to Keith Arnold Golson was about to go in on Saturday when Rees was thought to be hurt after a big hit.

If that was really the case(no idea why Arnold would lie about that) you have to think Golson is the 3rd stringer.

if golson or hendrix has a goal line package, we won't see it unless we're up 17+ on someone. that makes the most sense and has lowest risk.

Honestly, I've been a huge fan of crist since the day he arrived at ND. It's disappointing to see him struggle and hard to watch. I've always felt that he could be a great QB, he just has to work on his accuracy. I do, however, think it's time to turn to Rees. They are both good, but Rees just seems to get the team going.
I do have a question though, if Notre Dame doesn't offer crist a 5th year, can he pull a Russell Wilson and dart to another school?

Brian Kelly coaching perspective says [seemingly]: Rees starts with Crist penciled in as his back-up. Kelly will still see Dayne as having the greater grasp of the playbook [than Everett or Andrew]. Who knows? If we're lucky maybe Crist turns out to be Montana-ish in that he'd stink when he started but played great when he reiieved (wouldn't be the first time I've seen that [used to get it in basketball all the time]).

Regarding Hendrix and Golson: LOGIC would say that Andrew should be used and Everett sat out for seasoning and better eligibility spread among the QBs...BUT that business of Everett being the one rushing for his helmet tells me [if it is as it seemed] that Kelly had told him that he was #3 and to get ready to play if Tommy went down.
