On Power Hour, Mike and Jamie basically said much of what I said regarding the offense.
The issue against USC was far more on Sam Hartman than it was the playcalling of Parker.
To Parker's credit, he called a much better game, and he wasn't anywhere near as predictable as he was the past 2 games.
ND was 3 of 10 on third down, and they should've easily had 3-4 more conversions but Hartman was so off and it cost them. Several times, the play was right and Hartman either doesn't throw it that way or his throw is so off target that the receiver doesn't have much shot at getting it.
Another thing they mentioned re: Parker and it's something I'm concerned about long-term. This offense wants to run the play as is, and not have any checks. Okay, but if you're going to do that, your OC has to guess right, and recently Parker has been guessing wrong way more often. He would benefit from running different plays from different formations. Seems like if ND is lined up in X formation, they're going to run X play, and if they're lined up in Y formation, they're going to run Y play. There needs to be wrinkles where you line up in X and then run Y. That's my Football for Dummies explanation.
