My personal wish list is: Kirby Moore (Mizzou), Liam Coen (Kentucky), Andy Kotelnicki (Kansas).

LOL folks in here talking about "the next OC" as if ND admin actually gives a shit about on-field results...
I know there are a lot of moving parts. But, Do we know anything about Bevacqua? Is he actively working with Swarbrick for the transition..like...is he on site?

I think since July he’s been in a transition role until 2024 starts.

At least he played football at ND under Holtz. He was a walk-on punter. But, he was still in the locker room and around the program when it was winning.

That said, if he starts touting championships in olympic sports in a few years, then we're screwed.

I just assume he's a puppet of the admin whose sole purpose is to maximize profit on the NBC deal. Not really sure involved he is beyond that.

I'm a Software as a Service Account Manager and I have a large healthcare provider as one of my customers. They have knowledgeable tech execs but they have a hang until retirement and don't rock the boat mentality. It was so bad through the Summer that due to an going software secure connection issue and a supposedly sudden lack of business unit-funded projects, they actually wanted to get out of the final year of their contract with my company... Then, even as we had a next meeting on the calendar to discuss terminating the final year payment, they suddenly within a few days expressed an urgent interest in strategic company and architecture information and a need to meet to discuss business unit requirements. What changed? The CEO hired a direct report business executive over shared services for the co. business units to efficiently leverage, and where technology is certainly one of his key focuses. Within days of his appointment, the longtime CIO announces retirement and the new one will report to the new exec. He started lighting a fire under IT & Digital to do their jobs and come up with an enterprise commerce solution that business units require and can leverage to drive the co. forwared... We need an AD like that to shake things up, not one who is a company man and a lifer

No issue with the playcalls, only issue is the execution.

Maybe at some point they'll realize some playcalls are really hard to execute against certain formations or in certain situations. If you need 10 players to execute a play perfectly to pick up 1 yard, DON'T run the frichan play

There's some plays where you know this may not work, but if it does it's a tuddy, i don't see them with our short yardage jet sweeps.

This team feels like a Ty Willingham team. We're living on defense with weak offensive production, but eventually the defense tires out and opponents pull away. I can only hope we don't have a Ty result against USC this week. You've got to be able to score on USC to stay in the game, you can't bottle them up for 4 quarters.

I'd take Weis Jr as our new OC... Speaking of Juniors, I'd take Brennan Carroll (Pete's son). Although AZ's O made some mistakes, he almost knocked off USC even with AZ's lack of Blue Chip talent (and he's been in the NFL I think) and he's also been Running Game Coordinator).

Going for it on 4th and 11 or 13 (whatever it was) with approx. 10 mins to go was the right play call?!?!?!? That wasn't just execution that failed in the situation ... that was plain stupidity at its best!!!

If we're getting creative, I'd take a look at Danny Freund from North Dakota. They have the most efficient offense in FCS so far this year. A bit more pass heavy, but still an effective rushing offense. Catholic guy from Kenosha as well.

I posted this earlier. Why is stealing the best and the brightest from D1 AA and D2 not leveraged more, especially if ND insists on being cheap?

Recruiting is innate. Some people wake up with it and there's very little value to experience in it. If they're proven play callers, available, and affordable... Why not vet this hard? Little competition from other suitors...

Agree 100%, but again it was a tough time of the year since most changes were done and then the AL opening due to NFL poaching caused Tommy to leave at this not so great time of year, but I still agree that as many have said, with right amount of $ and hopefully some FBS top div. and ND aspirations out there, we could have poached a talented OC from the lower ranks, even if it did end taking a bit of time. From a recruiting standpoint, it was actually an ok time to be looking since final signing day was over and the heavy recruiting season was still months away. And it would have been much better than the direction we ended up going.

Fr ND defense has been significantly better than I expected this year, especially before they were gassed in 2nd halves of Duke and Louisville.
Golden has been excellent on adjustments, and I don't blame the defenses for getting gassed late after being on the field all game. Holding OSU to 1 TD prior to the final second was legendary, and that 1 TD came on a play where Harrison tackled a defender and the refs didn't call it.

They’re slightly better at stopping the run than I expected before Louisville second half, passing d about what I expected, tackling worse
