I swear I saw on one of the games that either Kiper or Mcshay had Love and Price as the #1 and #2 draft eligible backs. Not to say that it would remain that way.

When Bevacqua was discussing opting out of the bowl, he referenced the players who may leave early for the NFL. Obviously, he included J Love & J Price but he had Wagner in there too. I’m sure he’d get drafted but would he get drafted as early as the second round? Would love to have him back but understand he has a bright future either way.
Wagner sounds like a money issue. Brice is convinced Wagner will get around 7 figures from someone.

Randomish question:

Any season ticket holders on here that have had experience reselling tickets on Facebook or any other entity? I'm honestly thinking about buying season tickets just to get Miami tickets.

There are a few ND ticket type FB accounts I follow. Do not expect to 'make your money back' from what I've seen.
But an easy way to get rid of tickets if you price them to sell, and you have a better chance of selling to ND fans.

Sounds pretty good, but have you seen Bama’s RBs in, say, their gritty win over Auburn?

Just buy Miami tickets on stubhub. Yeah they’ll be expensive, but they’ll be way less than season tickets. And looking at the schedule for next year, the other home games won’t sell out and you’ll probably end up taking a bath on the other games.

Yeah and ticket prices tend to drop drastically the days before the game, especially if the weather isn't ideal

This is good advice. Next year schedule sucks ass, but Miami will be a hot ticket.

I'm only continuing my season tickets because I love my seats and I always bet on getting a home playoff game.

I think the two big spends will be WR1 and DT. I’d even consider bringing in a DE to play. We lose Bothelo, JT. Burgess should be ready to play and help. I expect some of the young guys to get reps. RB1 Williams is fine. I think both Freshman can play as well. I think our offense goes to more passing next year va running at least that’s me.
So the 2 month clock starts ticking when? Minimum it goes to Feb 8th?

Notre Dame’s TV Ratings Don’t Match Its Reputation

A few weeks back I put out a post about what I thought was a disturbing trend in ND's TV ratings. This article seems to back it up.

ND is getting past in viewership, I believe because it doesn't have a partner bringing in eyeballs in their games. They need to schedule harder games or more name brand ones at least. Otherwise, I can see the NBC deal going away eventually.

Yep, our schedule sucks and NBC has to be worried or pressuring us for better matchups

doubt that but it would hurt ND's power to leverage a higher deal in future

Yup the article is a lazy analysis. Of course nobody is watching a 70 - 7 game. ND is quite literally blowing too many teams out to attain good viewership compared the SEC where you turn on ABC and see 3 competitive games in a row. ABC kicked everyone’s ass this year because every game was competitive without changing the channel. The B1Gs 3 network approached helped the SEC. It is basically the exact same debate as the ND SOS issue. ND doesn’t have an ND issue, they have an ACC issue.

Miami - 2nd overall. #1 in time slot
A&M - 3rd overall. #2 in time slot
USC - 4th overall. #2 in time slot

Even the below which got ABC feature:

Arkansas - 6th overall. #1 in time slot over Illinois/USC game
Pitt - 4th overall. #2 in time slot

I give that article (or any article), which makes a numbers-based argument but then doesn't cite to or link the source of the numbers, little consideration. Show your work. Cite your sources. This is basic stuff. 0/25.

and to idea NBC may be unhappy with our viewership, here is the list of games that outdid the A&M and USC games on NBC:

- Oregon v Penn State

/end of list

Big Ten on NBC was a massive flop.

I am saying that in general some of the games NBC has have sucked. NBC has to be saying something. Plus, if it is true like some of the rumors are correct that our contract is incentive based and revolves around ratings we need better games. The ACC is a drag on our schedule and program.

As was discussed elsewhere, the Nielsen top 10 averages do NOT include viewership counts from the SEC Network.

Thus you had a crap Auburn team being in the top 10 of averages because any decent games were on ESPN and their crap games were on the SEC Network with crappy viewership figures which weren't included in the averages.

There is still a concern about ND viewership dropping because of playing so many crappy ACC teams.

Does Fox get first pick of the Big Ten games? Most of the Big Ten night games are incredibly boring

I believe it is a draft. So Oregon - Penn State was their first overall selection IIRC

To me the canary in a coal mine is the Nebraska - USC numbers. That is the helmets you’ve sought out and was a Top 25 matchup. Did less than Navy - Notre Dame. Zoinks.

If NBC wants better ratings for Notre Dame and for its Big Ten games, perhaps they should lean on the Big Ten to schedule more games against Notre Dame, especially after Oct. 1.

Fox gets the first 3 picks, they always take OSU/UM, and the next two best games. After that it’s a draft. Not sure if they stay in the same draft order or snake.

This is an important point and something that has really pissed me off about the discourse over the past week. Clay Travis tweeted that South Carolina averaged more viewers than ND this year - guess what, South Carolina only played five games that were Nielsen rated!
