Hey Guys, Since im all the way down in Florida and cant make it to south bend every weekend i host an Irish watch party every saturday.

Last year we had football pools, bean bag toss, and awesome food and drinks.

This year ive added a huge HD tv, also i am going to add some ND Band music for when people arrive.

But i am looking to make this year even more fun, anyone have any ideas?

Looking for ideas that wont kill the wallet. Games, decor, food, anything! I'm at a loss but maybe someone here has something they do that i havent thought of yet.

Let me know.

Go Irish!!!

yea we do touchdown shots, only ND touchdowns tho.

I just want people to be in awe when they walk in for the game watch.

Get some faux bear shako hats and plaid kilts and be your own Irish Guard on Saturdays.

Real men wear kilts during Irish football games.

see if you can rent one of those inflatable football helmets players run through and set it up at your front door (maybe just for 1 or 2 big games tho as ik they are REALLY expensive)

LOL... I have a litlle ND shrine room... hoping to expand it to a full blown ND game room once we move to Texas (everything is bigger there you know)...

but parties??? I was talking to a fellow teacher and friend who just happens to be the only fellow ND fan I personally know... he and I agreed that watching ND games with anyone who isn't an Irish fan totally fucking blows...

If we win they don't care and move on to the next game without mentioning it again, if we lose they pile on and talk so much shit simply because it's Notre Dame and you become the running gag of the party... tuck fhat!

I watch Irish games the same way George Thorogood drinks... alone.

It is so corny, I know, so please forgive me...

I have done this at a couple watch parties I have had - play the game where you put the name on people's backs and they have to ask yes or no questions to find out who they are. You can do it with a Notre Dame theme. Even people that aren't too big on Notre Dame trivia could guess names like Joe Montana or Jerome Bettis. It is fun and it gets people talking about ND and stuff like that. Good ice breaker for people who might not know each other really well. Plus, it doesn't cost a penny.

When you're drunk, the game gets even more fun.

Can I get a "testify," Brotha? One Bourbon, one Scotch and one Beer. And that's just during pre-game bullshit.

I'm obnoxious whether we're winning or losing. I'm pretty sure that that was one of the many complaints listed by my now ex-wife. She wanted to spend some "quality time" on a Saturday afternoon during the season. I just wanted to watch the fugging game and scream invectives or hosannas as need be. I feel unduly constrained with others around.

On the other hand, if I'm in a situation where other Domers are buying the drinks ...

its actually a pretty small party, you have to be a certifiable irish nut to get invited!

i used to have a problem with non irish fans coming and i actually even created a shirt inspired by message board lingo.

ill take a pic tomorrow and post it and see if you guys can get it!
