Do you guys drive to and from campus, or shuttle, or cab?

Normally I drive to campus from a hotel in Elkhart (I recommend taking exit 83 off of the turnpike to avoid traffic). I have a friend who lives on Francis St. near campus who lets me park at his house, so I can't speak to where the best place is for parking. If you get to campus early enough, there are side streets in that general area that might be available.

If you do arrive early, the South Dining Hall is a good place to go for breakfast. If you're not tailgating, grab a steak sammich at the K of C stand or a brat at one of the student tables for lunch.

Is Notre Dame football games sold out when the tickets go on sale?

What are some places to hang out at before game time?

What time should I head to the stadium, if I go?

Is Notre Dame football games sold out when the tickets go on sale? KINDA, you usually cant get tickets from ND but they are available on stubhub and such

What are some places to hang out at before game time? Campus, watch the players come from mass, go to watch the band pre game, right after that go to the administration building (golden dome) to watch the trumpets (best part of pre-game)

What time should I head to the stadium, if I go? Really depends on what you want to see, i usually go about 45 minuets early to see the pre game warmups and such, but if you just want to see the game, come around 3-3:15

Hope this helps

I'm going to see Notre Dame for the first time on Wednesday. It's too bad it won't be for a game, but I'm hopeful for this year.

Age/intentions ?

GreatDaynes response is the ND deluxe package, but if you're looking for a more "social" atmosphere, the Linebacker is popular. Tailgates start around 10, the majority are more than accommodating. Best places are around Legends and the Library parking lots.

When we go, we get to the White Field Lots around 7:30 am. Just enough time to fire up the grills, chill the brew and have a great day. All of the other lots require a parking hang tag... White field is about a mile away, but there's a shuttle that drops you off at Hesburgh Library in the loop.

The Linebacker is the best. Soo much tradition for us to party there. We are beer drinkers soo can't say much for the mix drinks. There is a new Eddys Commons area that is suppose to have Irish Pub. Close to campus I heard. No one has said anything about this. Are some restaurants and bars open??

For the people staying in Elkhart, how bad is the traffic on game day? i know it's only 16 miles away, but i'm used to PSU games where it could take 2 hours just to get into town

Great question, I am also looking at staying in Elkhart. Sort of an add on question to Marty's...is it quicker to jump on the interstate, or take a back road over?

I also realize this has been talked about before, but which is that best 'sleeper' place to park? I plan on arriving on campus around 10am or so.

Just park in the North Lot (white) right off the highway. It's $20 and hassle free in and out. They will give you a campus map when you pay for the lot and then you can just walk South through campus and see the lakes, Grotto, Dome, Library, ect. Takes about 15 minutes to get to the Stadium but it's a really nice walk.

Does anybody stay in hotels in the area after games? I have 3 buddies coming with me to the Purdue game and they want to get a hotel to avoid driving home. But there is only a Knights Inn North of campus available and I'm not sure how we would tailgate if we leave our car there and then walk? Just wondering how other people organize tailgates like this.

I actually prefer parking at Holy Cross. I believe it's 20 dollars also, but it's right next to the campus. It's not much of a hassle either.

Always works for me, too....though it sucks that they make you head south on 933 when you really want to be headed back to the ITP.

Here's a question...anyone know at what time the opposing team does walk-throughs the Friday before games? How common is this practice, and how long do they usually last?

For the younger crowd (I mean 30 and younger) of fans, after the game and the bar scene...where do people go? and do they wear ND gear or do they go home and change first?

My first trip this weekend. Wanna be prepared!

It changes but a few bars are big: CJs, finnegan's, The Linebacker, and whatever the Pub is called at Eddy Street Commons (I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones I knwo of). Eddy Street and The Linebacker are more of a post-grad/ young alum crowd while CJs and Finny's are more ND seniors. One thing to keep in mind is that ND definitely is not a big college and that a lot of people know each other by the time they're old enough to go out to bars there. Still, if you're going with a friend, it should be fun to see what the nightlife is. Most people change, though ND wear is definitely acceptable. More so if they win.

Have fun.

Is The Gug open to the public at all? If it is I figured that would be something amazing to checkout on gameday.
Im guessing it most likely isnt, just curious.

“@KeithArnoldNBC: New gameday route for ND: Mass, then bus to Gug. Walk to library, then around reflection pool, crossing quad to stadium. Could be cool.”

With Notre Dame losing today it is not a guarantee that #GameDay will be in Ann Arbor next weekend
