I can’t tell if I’m supposed to assume that is fake?

Wait until Nashville builds their stadium. You know they'll be hosting the CFP.
Very good observation... I live here in Nashville and the NC game for NCAA/Superbowl has been the buzz since the approval of the day it was approved. The new TN State bird is the 'Metal Crane'.... So many hotels and restaurants are going in faster than shit through a goose.

I was down there a couple of years ago for a Blackhawks game. If the new stadium is being built where the existing stadium is, there’s no other place really I’d rather go for a game.

I still contend the final game and national championship should always be played in the Rose Bowl as the sun goes down on 1/1.

The next email from Savvy Jack will be informing the OFD crew that they have unpaid tolls and if they don’t pay, they’ll be arrested imminently.

Big 12, ACC and potentially SEC behind 5 + 11 model. Only B1G aggressively leaning towards more AQs.

The SEC also wants to remain at 8 conference games.

So the conference who wants less good non cons, rivalries to end and AQ tournaments is the big bad B1G 10.

Have seen several SEC coaches say they are in favor of a scheduling partnership with the B10, which would obviously be bad for us. Would hurt our scheduling flexibility tremendously.

B1G would never go for that, as we are seeing play at right now with USC/ND. SEC knows they would dominate the games for teams 4 and lower which would skew metrics towards the SEC for at large bids.

No one really wants to see a forced Missouri/Minnesota and Iowa/South Carolina game. That’s what the Music City Bowl is for.

AQs are anti-competitive, and the SEC probably gets five teams in a 16-team field more often than not anyway.
Did the Big 10 overplay their hand here?

Big ten wants each conference to play 9 conference games. If the SEC plays three of the school of the blind, they will be more likely to be in the 11. This one account on X has done a good job breaking it down. @genetics65

The Big Ten schedules significantly weaker in the non con

PSU 2025: Nevada, FIU, Villanova
Indiana 2025: Old Dominion, Kennesaw, Indiana State
Indiana 2024: FIU, Western Illinois, Charlotte
Michigan 2023: ECU, UNLV, Bowling Green
Michigan 2022: Col St, UCONN, Hawaii
OSU 2024: Akron, Western Michigan, Marshall

You could argue B1G playoff dominance of late has been built on the backs of non cons + bottom feeders (NW, Purdue etc) so weak that they are able to rest a large portion of the season. They want a pat on the back for a 9 game schedule when they know the bottom of the B1G is straight garbage.

i mean, i am sure i can go through and select certain teams from random years and say the SEC had weak non conference games. Also, need to not include Indiana here bc they weren't good when these games were made

Indiana bought out of a Louisville home and away weeks before Cignetti was announced. They intentionally lightened their schedule for the new coach, not an uncommon practice, but not at random.

Big 10 believes the best strategy is to have their teams play cupcakes throughout the year so teams are fresh for playoffs.

SEC believes in letting the strong survive. I hope ACC/Big 12 see this as the way too.

As Notre Dame we want the playoff committee to reward playing tough games. We can’t let USC weasel out of our series.

The conference that had that freshest strategy has won the overwhelming majority of titles in the playoff era

I party in Nashville a lot, and I went to Post Malone the weekend of the ND GA tech game (I only remember because I had to miss going to the game). Long story short, Post played at the NFL stadium and it was the worst trek back to Broadway, I assume it would be worse for a playoff game. So unless they get a new bridge put in, I think it's a bad idea.

SEC’s “9th Conference Game” by year since 2021:

Alabama: Miami, Texas, Texas, Wisconsin
Georgia: Clemson, Oregon, UAB, Clemson (they play Ga Tech annually)
LSU: UCLA, FSU, FSU, USC

Yes, SEC teams usually play cupcakes with 2 - 3 of their non conference schedule. But the reality is the contenders typically use that extra non conference for a legitimate game that is tougher than a typical average - lower tier B1G opponent. ND occupies this spot on a lot of future schedules as well.

The B1G wants to play easier conference schedules and easier non conference schedules and get rewarded for it no questions asked (AQs).

Sankey and Pete B ain’t buyin it! SEC SEC SEC!

Eh, watching the Big 10 and SEC clash makes me realize how Americans in 1941 viewed the Germany/Soviet war. Mutual destruction is my hope.

I don't really mind the B1G for the most part. I rather enjoyed it pre-Nebraska
