There is no way BK suspends him for more than 3 games. So far BK has said the following things:

- Floyd is suspended and will be so until he changes his behavior and the legal and university discipline procedures run course.

- Floyd has been making the changes necessary and is taking the procedures seriously.

If BK was going to suspend him for the season I think he would have done it already rather than stretch it out for so long.

Unfortunately, I think he'll miss UM and MSU which are vital games early in the season.

Not to give the generic boring answer, but we'll know when we'll know and it probably won't be for a while. I personally like the way BK is handling it

I definitely like how BK is handling it, focus on the team let Floyd do what he needs to do. I don't think we're looking at more than a 1 game suspension.....I hope

Probably not until there's a press conference regarding Preseason Camp where Kelly addresses the entire roster noting the status of rehabs, transfers, incoming freshman and those on suspension.

Personally I like the way ND handled it. Floyd's serving a semester suspension in the same semester as his infraction which was what Powers Neal did. It's still a student matter.

Kelly can impose further sentence if he choses but fundamentally Floyd has to meet all of Res Life sanctions, diversion, community service, whatever they are. IF Floyd fumbles that obligation he probably won't be in school.

I'm not aware how Res Life considers Preseason Camp from a semester standpoint. With Powers Neal he was deemed to be still on suspension for the bowl game even though Weis though his suspension ended when classes ended for the semester. Not so by the Adminstrations clock in that case.

IF Res Life considers Preseason camp to be part of the current semester (while he's serving suspension) Floyd would be barred from Preseason Camp participation. He would still have to go through the 5 day NCAA Conditioning/Acclimation Program before practicing/playing. The good news there is Fall Semester Classes begin on Aug 23rd. Providing he's met all his Res Life obligations he should be able to start his NCAA acclimation on that date which would give him 10 days before the USF game on Sept 3rd to get ready.

And then there are the legal ramifications. Kelly ain't gonna do jack until Floyd's hearing June 7th, and any subsequent actions beyond that. Michael was lucky that there was no property damage or injury as a result of his poor judgement.

i agree with you guys.. this really funked it up tho i saw he plead not guilty at court i thought that might look bad on him... I mean his did get arrested right?

i'd be happy with one game and i also like the way we've handled it...

Just to review, at the hearing that just transpired, Floyd (atty) had the choice of pleading guilty, not guilty, or (in some cases, like when the dog ate your homework) no contest. Our system is based on the presumption of innocence. Except La., which follows Napoleonic code, (sort of).

Since the presumption of innocence is the basis for conducting the business of our legal system, forsaking that may lead to the accused giving up some basic rights. Me personally, I think that anyone that pleads guilty is stupid, or avoiding conviction of a far worse crime/stiffer sentence of which they are actually guilty. On that basis, they drop a few notches in my book.

agree with most...he'll be sitting for South Florida, and in uniform ready to pound Michigan the following Saturday night.

Exactly. Keep it outta the news. BK is doing a masterful job with the press on this. Short answers and not giving anyone anything to spin.

As for the games, I bet he misses the first game and that's all.

BK is no stranger to controversey with players. He will deal with this in a way that most people will forget. Like Lou's ways of in house discipline. I'm hopeful its 1 game. He needs to payback msu and um for the injuries they incurred on him.

Better get our shots in when we can before Joe Bolden beats the tar out of us.

When do the summer practices start? I'm assuming in August, right? I'm hoping by that point Floyd will have made progess and be allowed to practice and prepare for the season. I think that is vital for both him as an indivisual and as a player. Does anyone know the exact dates?

Exact date, no. Generally starts the first week in August. I'll guess Friday August 5th.

An article stated that he would be available after August 23, with the start of fall term. (That is if he is not released for the summer, consistent with what has been done in the past.) That really cuts it close with the NCAA mandated conditioning.

Can't remember where I saw it but it's out there.
