Floyd looks good

Notre Dame offensive coordinator Charley Molnar said last Tuesday that he was optimistic that receiver Michael Floyd would be available to play against Navy.

That optimism stemmed from Floyd feeling he would be able to contribute against the Midshipmen, but that theory was sunk as the week went on.

Floyd did not play in the 35-17 loss last Saturday, and Molnar said that was a good idea.

"Even as of last Friday, when we did our last walk through, I had a lot of doubt that he could go out there and give us more than just a few plays," Molnar said Tuesday.

One little thing indicated to me that Mike was VERY close to being able to go---he had his helmet on a good part of the second half.

Definently good news on the injury front for a change. Really hope he gets to play this weekend because I always like our chances for a big play when he is on the field.

The official line was that he was ready to go in an emergency last week. Personally, I didn't like that logic. But you're right, he was close to ready.

I'm glad Floyd's back, but I hope that Kamara continues to see the field; he was one of the few bright spots against Navy.
