alright you want a response, so here.
1)As for the compliance office, you're right one person working their, but was that gonna prevent this? check UNC, BAMA, Florida etc. all these teams that are getting looked at now. I dont know how many people they had in their offices, but again they have stuff going on as well even with all these protective measures.
2)Also, realize that this wasn't even an issue in early 2000's. were universities worrying about this earlier? hell no, why? because they didnt think it would happen.
3)YOU CANT WATCH OVER EVERYONE, simple as that. If it is as cut and dry as that then how come ND isn't getting some heat for having athletes drink, or (like i've said before) why isn't oregon getting crap for having a criminal on their team? the reasons they dont penalized is because it is unfair to expect this from a University who has hundreds of athletes, not to mention thousands of students, boosters alumni etc., many of whom are ADULTS and expected to make good decisions. And as for Reggie being a high profile athlete, need i remind you how many big time players SC had and when this all started (december of 04) SC had a quarterback in Matt Leinart who was much more hyped and sought after than Bush was at the time.

5)Boosters=Alumni with money. Again how can you keep track of this? so now they gotta keep track of athletes, students, and now EVERY SINGLE ALUMNI who has made a pretty penny. IMPOSSIBLE.
SC known for steroids since when? the Cushing thing? last i checked those tests can also be triggered by having smoked weed, far from a performance enhancer.

1) How was that going to prevent this? Are you serious? Ummm, maybe having more than ONE GUY in your compliance office would not have allowed Bush's car questionnaire to have THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION on there blank. Maybe more than one guy would have noticed and told Cheetey Petey that he had illegally hired an extra coach. Maybe more than one guy would have been able to figure out that Todd McNair knew what was going on.
As for those other schools, they got busted for the same reason you guys did...they didn't oversee their players enough! You're right - they are getting investigated because they are the exact same as USC. Oh wait, I take that back - they're not the same, they are being PROACTIVE in this and working with the NCAA. USC on the other hand had the pompous attitude that makes everyone hate them...they insisted they did nothing wrong and, through your own admission, thinks everyone is jealous of them LOL. You got what you deserved. The others are learning from your stupidity.
2) So because they didn't think it would happen, that makes it OK??? Guess what, you can name all the schools that are getting into major trouble, and none of them are NOTRE DAME. (Cue the stupid Kim Dunbar argument, which will make him look even worse)
3) You might not be able to watch over everyone, but you can watch your best players. So Matty Leinart was more high profile at the time. BFD. You act like Bush was the third string punter. When this went down the whole nation knew who he was, and his incredible talent made him a target for slimy agents. What, you didn't think they'd come after him? Did you think he sucked or something? Pathetic. He was a highly sought after recruit and an instant star. You CHOSE not to watch after him, and now it's biting you in the ass. You guys call them 'Trojans for life', well guess what, that Trojan was a selfish prick who wouldn't cooperate with the NCAA, wouldn't pay off those thugs to save your univeraity, and now you're paying the price for recruiting that selfish prick. 5) ND has alumni with just as deep pockets as you do, but somehow we keep them in check. I don't see us losing 30 schollies in 3 years, do you? So I guess it can be done. But poor you guys, it just can't be done at USC. Interesting.
Maybe that's because you idiots allowed ANYONE and everyone onto your practice field and into your locker room. There's a reason you guys were forced to change your practice ways.
