It definitely looks like we'll see a lot more zone/scooping runs than counters, powers and pulling guards.

Could be to take advantage of a mobile QB via read option, or utilization of RB vision.

In any event, does it seem like every new o-line coach at ND totally changes the blocking scheme? This must be the 3rd or 4th time Cave has had to swtich from power to zone and vice versa.

Wow, it sure is going to be hard to game plan against ND this year. They are an adjustement deep against teams that load the box, waiting to happen.

I have seen the Patriots go to a ton of 12 and 13 personnel, including frequently splitting a TE away from the formation, and I have seen how successful it has been. Along with the onset of the "package plays" (which I have not seen ND or NE do much of), the heavy use of 12 and 13 personnel is the new wave of modern football offenses.

It seems like it's devolved, in a positive manner.

It's like Chuck Martin took Kelly's playbook and removed every other page. I think they simplified the playbooks and formations, and increased the amount of different personnel groupings.

Just from what we've seen so far.

I like how unpredictable the call can be with Golson under center rather than shotgun every play.
