Manchester United are so bad. 5 Champions League matches, 14 goals conceded.

The form they're in headed to St. James Park this weekend? Not great.

irish lead IU 1-0 at halftime, IU has had a lot of corners kicks but our top ten rated scoring defense just wouldn't let them have very many good looks. one more good half away from the college cup.

Leon Bailey puts Villa ahead of City 1-0.

Live table is Arsenal, Liverpool, Villa, City, Spurs.

What a world.

As an Arsenal fan, Emery was just the wrong guy at the wrong time. He is clearly a talented manager, he was before Arsenal, he was with Arsenal, he is now with Villa. He just came to Arsenal during the banter years, with no direction. What he was able to accomplish with that 22(?) game unbeaten streak is truly miraculous. What he is doing with Villa is super impressive.

I was nervous for this weekend against them before, now... OH BOY.

He’s the best manager in world football if you take in body of work, IMHO. Klopp gets a shout too for what he did at Mainz and Dortmund prior to his success at Liverpool. Mourinho’s magic years with Porto too.

I always appreciate the managers that can do it with limited budgets and work into the higher wage clubs.

Unai so under appreciated. He did an interview there with a sunday newspaper few weeks ago and he said that if he had better language skills when he arrived at Arsenal he thinks he would have succeeded. He just believes he wasn't able to communicate sufficiently due to his level of English at the time. His record since makes you think he was probably right.

Newcastle v Man United and Aston Villa v Man City were two of the more dominant 1-0 victories I can recall in my recent memory. It feels like the apocalypse is upon us.

Crowded table. It's a Top 8 now in England and Chelsea is not included at the moment. Man United are shit and they're sitting sixth three points of of City who are third. Seems like any match involving Spurs has a referee putting his stamp on the affair. Just this week we've seen Liverpool Fulham 4-3, City Spurs 3-3, Arsenal Luton Town 4-3.

Wild times and it isn't even Christmas.

He became a walking meme to a lot of Arsenal fans when he would greet the press with "Good Ebening." I saw some training videos back when he was the manager, and it certainly showed he knew what he wanted the players to do, but I can 100% see how the language barrier and strong accent made it difficult.

this is the interview i was referring to:

My fav quote though:
His efforts to refresh Arsenal’s culture and style were compromised by communication. “When I came back from Arsenal my English improved but not enough and I was determined to continue learning so I was watching lots of series and movies. I watched All Or Nothing with every team [that the documentary series featured]. I watched American football, the All Blacks, The Last Dance [the Netflix series about Michael Jordan]. On YouTube, a movie about Kobe Bryant.
“And this is the puzzle I made in my mind. What is the way? Practise, practise, practise. Kobe Bryant’s message is that. Michael Jordan’s message is that. Practise, be demanding, then get confidence into the players. How do you do that? Before, I was always saying to them ‘play confident’ but what does that mean? You have to feel confident. Confidence is not something you can buy in the shop, you have to build it and the only way is to practise, be demanding and think football, football.”

Seems like Steve Cooper is out at Forest as well. They were absolutely embarrassed at Fulham last night
