Leeds' net spend off of the Raphinha and Phillips sales was about -$9M. Since they came up they've been dangling by a thread to stay up. Really feels like a bit more investment needs to be made to get them solidified at mid table.

City has one more point than Liverpool in the last ten matches. Not so fun fact considering how their standards have been the last few years.

Lecce are 12th in the Serie A standings but man those dudes are battlers.
Liverpools performances over that stretch are considerably worse that any ManCity have put together. Injuries aside….The match last night was abhorrent.

Oh man,… I had to pull out of the morning games with NC tied in the 88th. I figured another ‘disappointing’ draw,… I also turned away from the Huns down a goal. Lots happened after I had to leave the house this morning

That might be. But considering those results over a ten game span, I think that both had levels of excellence that are now starting to catch up to them.

Not conceding goals helps. Arsenal and Newcastle are doing that it seems.

Yeah I’d like to see their back line get improved before Marsch gets fired. Hoping that is the case. I think Marsch has been excellent but his defense has been problematic.
He’s grown immensely with man management and substitutions this year but unfortunately just doesn’t have the options at the back to solidify. The team is very close to a Europa/Conference league side.

Stay up and spend wisely in the summer.

Serie A is the most interesting league in Europe, year after year the only compettive one. I dont follow it much since im not partial to any specific team and they dont have too many Americans. Last year was fun with Venezia and Busio, but theyre looking like the next Sunderland and Lynden Gooch.

I mean look at the premier league, the most up for grab year in a decade, and at best they will have maybe one of the non-traditionally big 6 clubs make champion league play. Would be the first time an outsider grabs one of those slots since Leicester did when they won the league. And still there is a good shot Newcastle fades away anyway. Really the only thing to watch for is to see how far Chelsea and Liverpool can fall in the standings, and if Everton or West Ham get regulated.

Oh and speaking of Sunderland/Gooch, they are within striking distance of making it back. That'd be an awesome story.

I think you’re under selling some of the storylines out of the premier league this year. Tottenham has been wildly inconsistent. City is off form(as pointed out here), and there are 4 clubs outside of the big 6 in the top 8. There is still a chance for Brighton and Newcastle to finish top 4, and for Fulham or Brentford to play for Europe. I don’t think any one is touching Arsenal this year, but the race below is absolute madness.

Brighton, Brentford and Newcastle have all looked very threatening with a lot of youth and exceptional defending, so maybe they fade hard, or maybe they stay fit through the year. Also Brentford seem in the mix for Haji Wright, and if Thomas Frank can turn him into an Ivan Toney with fewer parlays, He should get a statue at USSF.

The fact that the bottom of the table doesn’t contain a single team promoted from last year makes nearly every match intriguing for the moment.

Maybe Tottenham and City find themselves and this all goes back to just a slightly more interesting relegation battle, but I think there is a chance for this season to continue to be all kinds of compelling.

Tottenham are the classic spiderman pointing meme. We have a manager who isn't getting backed by his board but is also out of contract soon so why would the board back him? But this board has never backed a single manager properly and got lucky catching magic with Poch and making the CL pre-mega rise of City and Liverpool but with the fall of United.

Confusing words above...just like tottenham

This Mudryk purchase is baffling.

$100M fee, $200K a week and for a guy who scored 12 goals in the Ukraine and has been twerking for Arsenal for months.

Todd is going on Chelsea message boards and buying whatever players they have threads about. It's a good thing they beat Crystal Palace yesterday. Had they dropped points they probably would have spent $80M.

United with some very important games ahead. Will the gunners keep this run going? City with a bad run of form since the World Cup. Not sure how Chelsea isn’t breaching FFP.

United playing very well as of late. Even if they beat Arsenal, the way the Gunners have been playing (combined with City dropping lately), not sure if anyone can catch them.

They still have to play City twice, which could be huge if City turn it around.

They seem to be giving out 6-8 year contracts to some of these guys, which is going to be rough if any of them turn out to be duds and they have to sell them off. I am not sure exactly how that skirts around FFP but doing so is some kind of strategy in relation to it. I honestly didn't really look into it further all that much.

Be that as it may, FFP is basically a joke and got found out a long time ago. For all the crap that PSG and City get, Chelsea and Man United have really done more than their fair share to completely screw up the market. Media and neutrals focus all of their energy on PSG and City for whatever reason. When you break down the numbers, though, some other clubs should be getting equal if not more attention. Not carrying water for City or PSG, but it should really be noted more.

Arsenal's breathing room just means that all these other choochballs get to talk about how they have no chance now and they're all underdogs chasing second place.

Keep an eye on this guy and where he gets resold, and for how much.

Another 6+ year deal.

I'm more interested in the numbers than his opinion because more than likely La Liga will win Champions League and Europa League as they typically do. LOL.

Those numbers support what he is talking about in the bigger picture, but even within the Premier League, you see a club like City sell off two players to Arsenal who are now at the top of the table. Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea in talks with Wolves, Brighton, etc. about midfield players. It goes on and on.

The path the sport is on won't be able to sustain itself unless UEFA does something.

Y’all starting to realize what Scotland has been saying for 30 plus years now aren’t ya?? ‘Celtic sucks and wouldn’t be a championship club!!!’ Well yeah, with their current money, maybe not. Money is everything now, and there’s WAY more have nots than haves. It’s not a good thing.

Kinda turning into college football with the EPL playing the role of the SEC. They just need to win the Champions league more frequently.

Feels like a HUGE 72 hours in the title race.
City play two home matches in three days (Spurs & Wolves)
Arsenal play Man UTD at home without Casemiro (yellow card suspension)

If City drop points, and Arsenal pull off another big win then it will fully be in Arsenal's hands.
Will be interesting to see how their mostly young squad deals with being the champions elect during the second half of the season.

City have looked like a team that doesn't have the killer instinct all year so far, tough to still have the same desire when you've won four in five years. :)

Tottenham, Man United, Liverpool and Southampton are the clubs that seem to give Man City fits regardless of form.

Arsenal win the title, Benfica win Champions League, Brighton and Newcastle go top four in England. It's pure madness!

If Newcastle holds a CL spot,… get ready. Start blasting ‘Love or Hate it’. Because I don’t think they leave that general status for a long time after,… titles from all directions prob follow shortly after.
