top seeded and 2nd ranked irish are getting upset at halftime by 9th seeded cardinals 1-0 in the ACC quarterfinals on ACCN. won't surprise me if they lose with the way our irish have played in other sports this weekend like football and hockey.
3-0, 52'

This is hardly the first time it's happened to Arsenal. Objectively, with all the technology available calls should not be missed. They didn't even VAR the shot to Jorginho's head? The supposed best league in the world is officiated like your local U10. It's aggravating. Even if it happens to Spurs.
It happens to everyone. Every week. Everywhere.

And you were right with the thought that as long as the managers continue to act as though it is no big deal when it happens to others, but then do a complete 180 when it happens to their club...nothing will change. They need a united front for any chance at action.

I mean Arteta changed his tune is less than a month because it means Arsenal lost points and my guess is he would change right now back if Arsenal wasn't involved in any way.

agreed. it is hypocritical coach speak. except for big ange, he is a top lad and doesn't whine (yet) like the rest of em. Scrap the whole thing, eliminate the ability for media to see VAR replays, and deal with human error. No one is intentionally trying to made a bad decision, so you can deal with it in the moment. But when there is such ambiguity amongst review and flat our errors in VAR, who really benefits? And i am Spurs and the Liverpool moment was atrocious.

Arteta is new to the process of having to finish in the mid to high 90s in order to win a title. Draws kill you and losses are catastrophic in England because the other 19 teams are chasing the beast.

You lose a couple of games before Christmas and you're mentally thinking "we're not going to be able to win the title." Hard to imagine but that really has become the situation at the present.

Meanwhile in Serie A, you have supporters of each team in the top four who want to sack their managers in November. LOL.

30 minutes in. I can't do this. Switching to Getafe v Cadiz because I know it won't be bull$hit.

In a way, I hope Arsenal's statement opens Pandora's Box, but I don't see any of this really mattering in the end.

The first half of this London Derby could be a Netflix mini series.

And there is an entire half left to play.

He came off injured. So did Van de Ven.

They went from virtually no adversity all season to 57 minutes worth of dumpster fire chaos.
Ugh - so now our only center back is Dier and Madison is injured too? International break needs to come quickly...

Be thankful they play one game a week. Already knocked out of League Cup too. A lot of runway to train all week, enjoy each other and not have to play a ton of matches in a sport where teams have to play a ton of matches.

Here's another receipt just in case.

They're now in a high line with 9 men and totally different personal than when the game started.

Thanks to Arsenal's statement, all matches in the Premier League are going to last 3 and a half hours. Pandora's Box has been opened now. Everything was checked today, in some cases two or three times. Dier's equalizer was clearly offside. They took three of four minutes to confirm it. Why? He was offside. No goal. Linesman got it right.

Big Ange got it wrong in terms of tactics. Playing a high line with 9 men and without both of his top two center backs was incredibly foolish. If Chelsea weren't so bad they would have gutted Spurs open sooner and worse. I think he got exposed today big time. He was getting applauded and rightfully so up until today, but this was really bad on his part. I don't know if this indicates that he can't adjust depending on the situation, but it was mad to play that high of a line 9 vs 11.

The postgame is going to be incredible. (Tim Howard is good in studio)

Diaz's goal/no goal probably plays a role here to. VAR and match officials are making sure it "i" is dotted and "t" is crossed.

Ultimately that’s what we want is for them to get the right call. Ideally the cal is right on the field but it doesn’t hurt to have someone looking over their shoulder. It shouldn’t take 3-4 minutes but it might …..

Get the right call. Secondarily if the calls continue to be poor from the field then that’s a problem in itself that isn’t VAR related. That’s shit refereeing related.

I watched the highlights. What decisions were in error by VAR? The offsides were right. The penalty and red card were correct. Jack was offside but Sterling wasn’t. Confirmed. Dier was offside. Confirmed.

I think he is just highlighting how many times VAR is coming into play each match, not necessarily a commentary on the decision one way of the other. I thought VAR was correct each time today.

Bummer that Sonny was a fraction off or Spurs cruise to victory. We were bossing the match. But Romero saw red and Destiny with a foolish second yellow. Let's see how we regroup and move forward. Hoping Madds and VdV aren't too hurt.

Also, take a look at Ange's post game. Epitome of class and doesn't whine like most modern managers.

Agree with all of that. Game took forever. I soccer will start to mirror the rest of society’s love of red tape and bureaucracy all in the name of “getting things right”. The fun part is the game, not the 25 minutes of VAR.

This was the beginning. Nothing like it had ever happened before. Now Arsenal release their statement and the first match after that not only included two clubs from London but virtually everything was reviewed.

Dier's equalizer was clearly offsides. It should not have taken as long as it did to show the linesman got it right.

It's just like Ange said. A lot of standing around.

Oh good, Arsenal fixed it. Sometimes you have to piss and moan to create change. When Arsenal has too many 4 hour games, they'll take care of that, too.

As an Inter supporter, I can't tell you how happy I was when Balotelli went to Manchester City. I think his first day in England he got into a car accident.

As an Italian, his brace in the 2012 Euros against Germany still rates as one of my favorite performances in World Football.
