Has nothing to do with ESPN. Augusta National runs everything in regards to the Masters and they believe "less is more" when showing it live. ESPN has only been able to show any of the first 2 rounds for a couple years.

Yup. I remember just a few years ago the earliest you would see anyone on the course was the 8th or 9th hole. Thankfully ANGC has allowed ESPN/CBS to start showing entire rounds, the par 3 tournament, live web feeds, and 3D technology last year. ANGC doesn't need the TV money (take a look at the food prices), so I'm just happy to see the entire round of the leaders on the weekend.

I sincerely hope each of them shoot -5 today and face off in a playoff... Will create great dramatics for the sport.

Epic choke, the Tiger intimidation factor is back.

I know they weren't paired today, but with Tiger right there and you add that round to the Tiger-Sergio total, that is now 9 rounds where Tiger leads Sergio by a whopping 37 strokes.

Justice served for Sergio.

Not sure if you flipped over to Golf Channel to see the trophy presentation, but they showed Sergio in the press room doing his interview. Just about at the time when he is answering the questions about his little spat with Eldrick you hear a raucous crowd in the background cheering for Tiger and the trophy presentation. Talk about irony and awkward!

Got back to back PGA events coming this week...Byron Nelson in Irving and Colonial in Ft. Worth.
The Nelson is notorious for killer babes...I'm all in Friday when the local offices dump out at noon. May not ever see a golf swing except on the big screen in the Pavillion.

Me too, I can see the reasoning from the USGA too. On the flip side, if they were that much of an advantage, i would think we would be seeing a lot more players using them with a lot more success. If I'm not mistaken, Adam Scott was the first person to win a major with an anchored or belly putter.

Keegan Bradley won the PGA in 2011. Then Simpson won the US Open. Then Els won the British Open. Then Scott won the Masters.

Don't know about lifesaver but this trend, albeit probably a random coincidence, probably led to this issue becoming front and center.

One of the USGA guys said something more telling today, IMO. He said that more and more kids are being taught the anchored putting by their coaches who beilieve it to be a better putting method. If the anchored putter is becoming more relevant with that demographic, it was time to act.

I agree they should be banned.

I played Merion yesterday and it claimed my soul, holy fk. The course is beyond penal if you're not close to the fairway.

What did you shoot? Play its fullest length? What's your handicap?

I'm just trying to gague on how it translates.

I've played Baltustrol a few times but it wasn't around any tournaments.

My handicapped score was 106. I just really struggled off the tee and made too many big numbers, which happens quickly. Also, the fairways were still U.S. Open tight, although not much different under normal conditions. I feels it's one of those course you have to play a ton to really understand all the nuances.

Someone help me....

I've never been an accurate driver of the golf ball, but all the sudden, I'm hitting a huge pull of the tee and with 3-4-5 irons. I mean, like 40 yards off my target line. Sometimes it's a pull hook, sometimes it's not.

It doesn't feel like I'm coming over the top. I heard that one cause could be a dipped front shoulder at address (although, haven't made it to the range yet to test). I'm damn near to the point of video taping it and posting online to see if someone can see what I'm doing wrong.

It's killing my scores. Sometimes I'l get lucky and avoid any major trouble, but sometimes I'll hit 4 out of bounds (case and point, played in a tournament and shot 73 on 18, 3 days later in league I shot 50 on 9).

It's to the point I don't even want to play.

Your club could be hitting the ball before your body even gets there which results in a hook or could be using to much wrist action on your down swing

Time to brag...

I had an eagle yesterday on a 70 yard chip in. As soon as I saw my lie I knew I was going to put it close, but definitely didn't expect that. It was a 500 yard par 5. Hit the tee shot a solid 250, but was in the rough and I had some trees in my way so I had to lay up to the left, because the hole was a slight dog leg right. My lie was plumped up in some short rough, which is my ideal lie with my sand wedge. I am deadly from 70-100 yards. Felt really good. Didn't play that great otherwise. 5 pars, an eagle, a birdie, two double bogies, and one triple. Up and down round.
