I envy your knowledge & know-how. I was a dumb jock and my dumber jock dad didn’t have those kind of skills to pass down.
My old man was a mechanic in the Air Force from '65 - '85. Although I played HS Basketball/Baseball, growing up as a kid I always had my head under the hood watching him mess with something... he had a '46 Ford and a '71 Galaxie 500 that had a 460 in it. If I wasn't at practice or a game, I was under the hood of something he was working on. He's 77 and I will be 55 in July and he still makes the two hour drive up here almost every other weekend and we work on my trucks now.

After semi-retiring, I went back this past month to my old passion of building/rebuilding old cars and trucks. Working on these now.
Nice trucks! Sadly, lurking on IE has become my past time (four daughters, two in college). I need to find another 79’ ford and get back into it. But man these older trucks are getting ridiculously expensive, and even harder to find.

Let me know what you are looking for brother. I have two car/truck groups I'm involved with in Nashville and Knoxville. If you want a square body or Ford, I can find you one and they are not bad - $2-3K but need work. That red '77 my wife wants. I am about to sell the F100 I finished this past year. My Dad is driving it right now. I was going to paint it but, guy wants to 'rat-rod' it. I bought my next project from a guy in Pulaski TN.

Am/am not looking to buy right now. Trying to wait until I get these kids through school. I do look often. My vehicle of choice would be a 79’ F150, 4x4, LWB. I had one years ago, it was a custom, dual tanks, with a 460. Great truck! Kickin myself, but the kids are first.

When you're ready let me know - DM me or FB. I'll be doing these projects til I can't drive no more!

I'd like to do a 90s Bronco or 80s Jimmy/Tahoe (big body) but I don't have the time right now. It's fun to see what you guys are working on

Broncos, RamChargers, and Squarebody Blazers are coming back.... The 70s/80s models especially. If you can find/get one, buy it in any condition. I know guys paying top dollar for them. They are putting Cummins in them and modifying with modern interiors.

I've seen a few guys who kept online journals detail their work and more than a few dropped the 6.7L Cummins along with some crazy beefed transmissions and lockers. I'm not that hardcore and I'm not a rockcrawler. When i was really young my family had a Bronco and I've wanted one since becoming an adult. I'll restore one at some point but man, they are starting to fetch big $$. I think the 90s are what i should focus on because they don't have enough interest yet.

Dave's custom parts are comparable to autosnacks / o'wrongly's parts and OEM..... you are going to pay 10-15% more but get fucking quality, long-lasting parts for the price. And, they are American and hand made to boot.
