Depth Chart for Purdue

I really want to see Kendall Moore in the mix before the end of the season. Our young core of LB's is the most exciting position to watch over the next couple of years to me. Im obv excited about the WR core but (as noted before) Brian Kelly can produce solid WR's at will. A hard nosed defense is something we've lacked recently.

I hope Kendall redshirts. I don't want another wasted season like the staff did with Filer. Give him time to develop. He looks really lean at this point.

I agree and it makes sense to redshirt him. We are very deep at the LB positions barring injury. I just want him to compete throughout the season and get tougher.

I know crist, rudolph, manti, and floyd get all the media attention, but my focus this season will be elsewhere......left tackle and right tackle.

If dever and martin don't protect dayne and something happens, we are in BIG trouble. bottom line.

I was talking to a friend who is walk on fball player and he had some good things to say about Shembo and Spond. I was surprised like some of you about Spond backing up Teo and this is what he said about Spond. "Danny is a stud. He was playing olb all summer but since MLB was thin the staff asked him to give it a shot one day. Danny made the tackle ten reps in a row and was causing fumbles and picking off passes." He said how Danny is the real deal. He also said shembo was one of the strongest pple he has ever seen. He said how shembo doesn't know his own strength yet and how in drills he will "accidentally" lay pple out bc he doesn't know how hard he is going. I loved what I was hearing and thought this would be a good change of pace in the 4HL from the Shaq stuff.

Carlo looks like the meanest SOB on that lineup. Makes Teo look meek and that is no easy task!

Ditto on Newman. I am real curious to see backups get some reps at NT. We need some solid depth and development behind Williams and Cwynar. Next year is scary if we don't see some flashes behind these two. Who am I kidding, THIS year is scary to me at this position!

Stockton's had 8 months with Longo as has the others. That's a difference maker right there. Look at Johnson.

Nix came in out of shape but that's changing. The change to 3-4 benefits Williams and Cwynar.

I agree, people always say Notre Dame can't recruit the big nose tackles, yet we're sitting here this year with Williams, Cwynar, Newman, Stockton and Nix. There's probably only a handful of teams with more talent at that position.

Defensive ends on the other hand...
