This is a good game for ND. Get a W, finish with double digit wins and calm the program down by heading into the off-season on a high note.

For anyone thinking that we should be in a better bowl game, this is a side effect of FSU being left out of the playoffs.

I think its safe to say that as of 24 hours ago this was the least "sexy" matchup most fans would have seen as a possibility.
Oregon State without their head coach and QB
Terrible bowl location, and likely less then ideal weather.
Terrible Day of the week, and start time for most fans during the crazy holiday season.

Kind of the perfect ending to a rather forgettable season of Notre Dame football. Ugh

Don't forget that their star RB, Damien Martinez, is going to be out due to a DUI as well.

I wave a 10th win regardless who it’s against.

Nobody can name the non-big bowl opponents of anybody in the past, they just look at final records.

Winning 10 games is important.
Starting next year top 10-12 is very important.

Winning the pop tarts bowl isn’t any better than winning the Sun Bowl.

I want a win.

Seriously though, is this a result of the acc saying “screw you” because of FSU getting left out? I just don’t understand this one. The freaking sun bowl didn’t even consider this a possibility

It's a fair point.
I'm 32 years old and can count the 10 win seasons I remember on almost one hand.
Regardless, its just unfortunate we couldn't get a more fun matchup.

They are essentially getting relegated to the mountain west and just lost their coach and qb. They are in trouble

Their RB also has been suspended for the bowl game. Their backup QB is very talented, though.

The Sun Bowl is ecstatic as the 2010 Sun Bowl saw the biggest revenue El Paso has experienced for a bowl game.

Also according to the interview, the last time we played in the Sun Bowl was El Paso's biggest economic impact from the bowl game ever.

In the past 25 years ND hasn't done too well against OSU's in bowl games. Their 0-5 and 0-2 against the beavers. It seems like if ND doesn't go to the playoff there's a good chance their bowl opponent is Oregon State or LSU
