Hope he lands on his feet somewhere. All three schools mentioned would be good landing spots for him.

I'm hoping he succeeds at his next stop. He's a class act even though he was treated like crap by Kelly. He should have have been given another chance to play. He's clearly a better qb than Rees.

Hold on. Kelly treated him like crap how exactly? By sticking with the QB that continued to win games? Crist may be the better QB, but his starting record was sub-par, and after the first drive of the USF game he was not helping the team win. Kelly wanted Dayne to step up and be a great QB. He just kind of let everyone down.

This change sounds like win win. Crist and Notre Dame could be better for this. Crist gets a chance to start over with a clean slate, and BK gets to coach without goofball accusations of treating someone like crap. Crist was given multiple chances, but he didn't perform well at N.D., and his screw-ups came at the worst possible time. You have to go with the guy that the team wins with. That wasn't Crist. I wish him well, but he can't really blame the coaches or Notre Dame.

Best of Luck to him! I always felt that Kelly had a short leash with him, and gave Rees more slack. Dispite who has the better record, dayne crist was the better QB. Oh well, no sense in bickering about it anymore.

I hope he finds success wherever he goes.

Not shocking at all. I'll root for him, he's been nothing but a class act the entire time.

Good luck to Dayne. He seemed to have handled everything that happened well -- hope it all works out for him.

Hey hey hey...goodbyeeeeee.

Dude,that is flat moronic.

I wish Crist the best.We should never be hating on our Irish brothers. He did what he could for our great program. He went through a lot, and then could never really get it back on track. I feel bad for him.Good for him to get his degree, and try and find a place to play for a season. I wish the kid nothing but the best.

Good luck Dayne. I will be cheering for you wherever you go (unless somehow you end up at USC) and I wish you success. He could go somewhere and have a very productive 2012 season and still end up getting drafted. He has all of the tools and I wonder how great he could have been for ND had he not had those devastating knee injuries.

I feel bad for the kid. I really hope he goes somewhere and does nothing but good things. He kinda got shafted with the turn of events of Weis getting fired and what not. Great quarterback, I just dont think he is confident enough to go out there and perform well. I dont want to turn this into a who is better debate, I just wish we got to see him as the starting qb for a little longer than we did. I really think he would have thrived in a pro style offense. Such a big upside. He could have easily casued a huge distraction this year with his circumstances but he kept it classy.

I'd love to see him at Wisconsin and beat Ohio State. Few things would bring me greater joy than watching him beat my friends' team after they ripped him the last few years.

All the best to you, young man. Regardless of the "football" stuff, you have been a wonderful example of a Notre Dame man in all your activities. May success follow you and may you throw 40 touchdown passes for somebody next year.

He has been "class" through out his Notre Dame years. I wish him the best through life, particularly next year. Hope he makes us all go "WOW"!

Dayne, you were #1 in my book. Say Hi to Charlie and good luck in Florida next year. I hope not Stanford.

Completely uncalled for. Dayne worked his butt off to be the starter. He just didn't fit into Kelly's offense. I was surprised that he didn't leave when Charlie got fired. He probably could've flourished in another system, but it's obvious he wanted that ND degree.

I wish him well in whatever decision he makes. He's an ND man, through and through.
