NJIT is the only independent in Division 1 Basketball. This is a school comprised of aspiring engineers, architects, computer majors, and other geeks.

When I went there when it was called NCE, Newark College of Engineering, later NJIT. It was in the NAIA and the season was a winner if we beat Rutgers, NEWARK-Rutgers.

NJIT joined Division 1 in '07 and has endured a 51 game losing streak.

Appalachian St over UM football was nothing compared to this shocker. This is like a 5 year old David taking down Goliath.

We're doing everything we need to do to get in a league. I would like to be in a conference. My kids deserve it. We shouldn't be the only independent in the country. We're not Notre Dame football.
