A few years ago my granddaughter that was about 10-11 at the time saw this old rotary phone my wife had bought. She looked at it and back at me and asked, "How does this work?" I was surprised as I assumed that anyone could look at it and know what to do. lol

It's crazy to me how seemingly so many young people can figure out complex technology easily, but struggle with super easy technology that seems super intuitive and easy for us

It's crazy to me how seemingly so many young people can figure out complex technology easily, but struggle with super easy technology that seems super intuitive and easy for us

They've become so programmed to do everything by pushing a button or clicking a mouse, that actual physical movement of dials, levers, and so on seem foreign to them and aren't instinctively obvious as to how they work. Trying to teach one of them to drive a stick is a lesson in frustration and disbelief sometimes, whereas most people of my generation learned to drive on a stick.

Within the last couple of years, there's been a couple of times I've had to move my car myself at a tire shop because nobody knew how to drive a stick. LOL

One time I did not have to pull it into the bay, but when I went to pay, they said I would have to move it out myself. I was thinking to myself, how in the world did you get it into the shop, but can't get it back out. So I asked. The two young guys still working said that their manager pulled it in, but he went home early.

Agreed. Shit activism like this just makes it harder to have actual productive conversations around trans rights...and makes your life more difficult. Based on the few stories I read, horrendous actions by the teachers/admin here.
