No, I'm going off of what you said previously, but I do believe our conversation has moved you away from this. I don't think you can simultaneously be any sort of patriotic and hate your country.
"It’s no secret the left hates this country and it’s no secret why… and it’s not because this administration."
That’s my opinion based on things outside the poll. Stolen land rhetoric, the country being systemically racist, built on racism, inherently racist, built on white supremacy, separate but equal holidays for minorities, the list can go on and on… but that’s just an opinion I inserted not based on the poll.
Yes! Some patriotism is great. What do you call the guy who graduates last from med school? What do you call the guy who just sucks one dick? (I left these wide open for you, have fun)
Some is better than none but if a guy graduated from med school and get dumber after graduating we have a problem… if you’re gay and your boy stops sucking your dick I’m sure you would see that a problem that needs to be fixed to smarten up the med doctor and for the gay guy to get sick sucked more… you’re describing things on come up (no pun intended) we have something declining and it’s okay with you.
See I don't think it's flakey, I think they had legitimate reasons. And that's ok with me.
I don’t care either way on this. I was just entertaining you moving the goalposts.
That's horrifying. But it also has to be treated with appropriate context.
We have 25 years of context. That’s a lot.
Give me something to understand the difference between someone who is "very" patriotic vs. "moderately" patriotic.
Moderate is less than very, therefore it’s a decrease in patriotism. Which has been my position. Less = decrease. The decrease has been my position not full on hate or none patriotism. Hence the analogy of the sinking boat… it’s sinking but not sunk. It declining… less than moderate is minimal or very little. You can see a decrease without context of what that decrease means.
It costs nothing to SAY you are patriotic.
Goes both ways.
It's also easy to then weaponize that "patriotism". Not unique to any party or country throughout history. You were talking about love of country vs. government, so I went broader as well. I'm not about to post some YouTube video on NDWarriors saved list. (Sorry NDWarrior, I'll try to to stop picking at you)
You can also weaponize the other side. Patriotism is deteriorating because I’m a victim of something. Victimhood has become very lucrative these days. Less patriotism probably catches more flies than patriotism sadly.
Thanks to you guys for keeping my clearance vetted! That process is actually way less painful now. Real nice.
I think it’s become too easy sadly. Which makes the back end of my job a lot harder when people mess up we have to clean it up.
Maybe? I assume they want people in the positions who do the job well irregardless of their cowboy hat having an American flag on it.
It’s one thing to do the job well… it’s another who you’re doing it for. The US, yourself, or some bad actor.
People disagree on things and the solutions and STILL are patriotic despite the many possible reasons they have not to including being told they hate their own country despite being patriotic professing (again I don't think you believe this still?). Makes tons of sense.
Still patriotic… just less patriotic. In my arena if you’re that easily influenced I have no need for you. I’m sure you have a clean SF86 but those that don’t get asked the tougher questions and are much more heavily scrutinized and vetted.
“Oh you just moved here from Iran 3 years ago, if the US and Iran went to war whose side would you be on?” Keep in mind 44% of Muslim Americans support Hamas and other groups.
“This social media post you made ‘from the river to the see’ what did you mean by that? Israel is a US ally, do you see them as an ally?”
“You came here from Mexico 3 years ago without a green card, you’re parents are currently in the US Improperly, what are your thoughts on national security and laws in general?”
Or with military… “you came to US last week and you are a citizen of Colombia, why are you joining the US military after only being here a week?”
You would be shocked how often this last one comes up.
Is that 51% of the 9% or 29% of the 2%? Do I have to carry any numbers?
Depends, is the earth flat? 😂
