As a Pirates fan, taking a series at Wrigley is quite a fantastic achievement. Low bar, especially considering they lost on Saturday by three touchdowns.

Love this pickup for the Cubs- his name was mentioned last year, I doubt they can afford bringing back Kyle Tucker, but if they can that's a nice duo to have in your lineup.

He’s going to be 32 and missed a quarter of the season last year in BOS. The Cubs gave him a guaranteed five year deal with a full no-trade clause. This seems like a deal that’s likely to haunt them in a couple years.

Pretty insane run with mostly AA/AAA pitching due to injuries. Can they maintain when things heat up?

I know he‘s battled some injuries but he seemed like a future rotation guy when he first came up. Too bad.
Check that. Those are his numbers from last year. His ERA is actually 9.58 and his whip is 2.29. They definitely are not going to be calling him up.

He has battled a lot of injuries, but the results since coming back off those injuries have been terrible. I don’t see how they won’t try to acquire another starting pitcher and reliever with all the injuries they have had.

To me Perralta is a great acquisition if y’all can pull that off. If I’m a Brewers fan, I’m pissed that they let him & Corbin Burnes go. They have too good of a team to not go “all in”.

Wicks is from Conway, AR so I try to follow him. He went to Kansas State where he was a 1st round pick by the Cubs. He’s reportedly a really good kid too but he may be at the end of his road unless he can reinvent himself. Looking on Baseball Reference, they have him on the 15-day IL.

Peralta would be huge. He also dominates the Cubs so it would be nice to not have to face him again this season. Obviously he has a familiarity with Counsell too. Would be a phenomenal pickup by the Cubs front office.
