I'm 'gonna be gay and bring up the fact that UCLA's offense sucks ass.

But yes, they do deserve a lot of credit. They pulled through when they had to and that matters.. they also kept an offense to 14 points.. that's always good, pretty much regardless of who you play.

well, they aren't world beaters but they have a good team, be proud 2night, espec. considering the heart our D showed late in the 4th and the same Quinn and the boys show in the last drive... (let's hear it for max protect too)

Define sucks ass? Because they're only a few yards per game behind what we've done. When you add in their defensive statistics, they're actually a more balanced team.

That was a good win.

Any time your opponent a) plays in a BCS conference, and b) is middle-of-the-pack or better in that conference, it's a good win. ND's win, Tennessee's, Cal's--those were all good wins. It's different if you struggle against Mississippi State, Stanford, or Illinois. Fact is, due to scholarship limits, the talent differential between top and mid-level teams is just not that great.

It's funny--a lot of people on this board underestimated UCLA. Now, many of them are underestimating ND's win over UCLA.

Not me. I didn't get to watch the game, had to work all day. But, on the drive home, I couldn't help but worry that I was going to see a big fat L on the schedule. I'm almost glad I didn't get to see the game. I would have been a nervous wreck, (up until the last minute anyway!) It was a good win. Not that it matters, but, I'm concerned that the pollsters might not see it that way.
