I really don't know all of the analytics of older vs. young with online situations. I do know old people in my part of the woods and yes they have seemed to been scared into not using that machine, their are some 40-50 year old's I know that think the girl that sent them an email are serious about wanting their attention...

I'm not saying all older people don't know, but you might be surprised when you see the amount of older people that won't do anything other than look at the facebook page their grandson/daughter... made for them, and they won't even push buttons out of fear.

I personally believe the fatality rate is a joke. I personally KNOW the testing is being abused and the diagnosis are over stated.

Personal aside, I'm directly on the front lines standing up government programs nationally (until corona we were only coverinf 36 states) due to this.

I can have an informed opinion and also execute my job. If you can't see that then respond with something snarky and have a wonderful day.

What else can I say? It's all in the link I provided. The option for Trump to open that special enrollment was rejected by him. The Dems are requesting that he reconsider that refusal.

The three levels of federal health care insurance options for the recently unemployed, uninsured are:

1. States who chose to expand Medicaid and those eleven who chose to open their state-run exchanges.

2. States who chose to expand Medicaid but do not run their own exchanges. At least they will get federal subsidies.

3. States who did not expand Medicaid (14), get no federal subsidies for expansion participants, and have very low eligibility limits to enroll in Medicaid. An example of the latter is Texas. Prior to COVID, Twenty percent of Texans were uninsured. Figures from today are that over 760k Texans filed for unemployment.

To 317Irish, no I'm not trolling. Also, I'm not making any comment regarding the affordability of COBRA or the quality of coverage. I am simply responding to Legacy's statement being factually incorrect. He continues to insist that the recently unemployed cannot get coverage under the Federal Exchanges. As you correctly pointed out, there is a special enrollment period of 60 days for those that have lost their insurance due to a job loss. Trumps decision to not implement a "Special Enrollment Period" doesn't change that.

What would happen if Trump does declare a "Special Enrollment Period" like the Democrats want?

1. The Special Enrollment Period would be open to ALL that want in, regardless if they lost insurance do to recently being unemployed. It's basically a new open enrollment.

2. It would make it simpler for those out of work to get coverage since the recently unemployed wouldn't have to provide documentation, slowing down and possibly confusing the application process.

I won't even make comments whether the above is a good idea or not.

All I will continue to insist is that if you are recently unemployed and have lost your insurance, you have 60 days to take advantage of the Special Enrollment Period on all State and Federal Exchanges

You don't see how one begets the other? Most people get the flu and they don't even call their doctor, let alone go to the emergency room. They buy a case of Gatorade and try to sleep as much as possible. Now, you get the flu and you're all "OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO FUCKING DIE!" and you admit to the hospital for two weeks. The fear-mongering is causing (in part) the run on the hospitals.

Because this isn't the flu. The people getting sick need hella care and its over running hospitals capacities to treat these people. The more people who are sick the less hospital resources there are to help.

The cure is absolutely worse than the disease right now. I'm on team "reopen everything, immediately, without restriction." Let people decide for themselves if they want to live in a bubble.

The "if we do nothing" scenario was estimated at what, 2 million deaths? And, as we've already established, the large majority of those people are on death's doorstep to begin with.

There are more strains of Influenza then we really understand and people that say they had the vaccine for the flu are not getting every antibody associated with all of the different strands. I got the flu "vaccine" 3-4 years ago and I ended up sicker that year then any other year of my life. (Fever-hallucinations and craziness from both ends of my body)

IMHO, this coronavirus Is very similar and why people are testing positive-then negative - than positive again seems like flu/cold antigens. The corona virus has been around for a long time and I'm no expert but 1+1 =2...

This whole argument and the fact that many people in the World feel differently about both sides of this situation.. It seems to be healthy and good for us to be in the loop.

Try looking up other death's that aren't related to an economic catastrophe that 9/11 caused after 8 years.

However, call it what u want but when a person has available life left regardless of their pre-existing condition and then COVID takes that life away, I would consider that a COVID related death. Has it been discussed about the possible casualties not included in the “mortality rate” (will anyone admit that mortality rate differs from the actual statistic were currently discussing?) could be even higher if it weren’t for certain variables like lack of testing upon certain deaths. I again think this is a pointless tangent for those that downplayed the situation from the beginning and are looking for the alternative argument as to what is going on right now. I can tell you for fact that’s not true from things I am hearing from the hospital we transport too. But not only that there was a doc on one of the news shows that said due to the symptoms and their history on most patients he is doing the corona virus as a secondary cause.

Medicare pays 13,000 for covid patients. They pay 39,000 for ventilator patients, to the hospitals. The Hypo oath Is up in the air for politically run hospitals.... Today they are very political and that's scary.
