I have this vision of Notre Dame and MSU following in Ohio State's national championship steps over the next few years, while Harbaugh struggles to get any decent recruits over the competition surrounding him. He is eventually fired after five years and Michigan fans no longer have anything to hope for.

All I want is one of the "New Year's Six " bids. ND REALLY needs to win a major bowl game. It's been way to long.

Hopefully we make it to a New Years 6 bowl and don't embarrass ourselves like we have done the previous three times

I actually think that this offense can be better than last years. Losing EG hurts. But I think that because of that. Kelly won't be as willing to air it out. Not to mention. That beast of an Oline. MZ may not have the "arm" of EG. Though I think it's not that far off. He adds another dimension to the offense.

With his ability to actually run the read option. That definitely puts more pressure on their D. Last year, I think what killed ND was that everyone knew that Golston will be handing it off. He rarely kept them rock. That advantage for the D is now gone. Which I think will open up more options in their run game. Making it easier for MZ to throw. Teams have to respect him as a runner in said situation.

The Oline should be better than last year's. And if that's the case. With basically two running backs in the backfield (MZ and TF or GB) and the wide receivers that ND has right now. This offense has them potential to be very good.

Another thing is. If A. Jones can contribute just a little bit. It'll long days and some sleepless nights for defensive coaches.

With that said. I think ND can make it to the playoffs and the 'Natty.

Oh. And I second what Dude said.

This offense can absolutely be better than last years. With the coaching staffs focus on MZ, we can do net net more than EG. MZ will improve the short and mid throws. I'll trade some limited passing early on for his ability to run, his leadership, and a team focused on, and behind one QB

I have a gut feeling a one loss ND team wins it's first round BCS playoff and plays for the championship.

We should be pretty damn good...maybe the best.

We should be better than last year. Having three MLBs and KVR back will help. Our d line is a year older across the board.

Don't we say this every year? BK has no excuse to not put it together this season but most ND fans say this ever year. This program needs consistency but I'm like you I am more optimistic then I've been in the past but it still could be the same thing it is every year. Part of me thinks why wouldn't it be because that's just how ND rolls

I thought the same two years ago, then Golson got suspended. I thought the same last years, then the frozen five. So I'll temper any expectations till September lol.

I really want to drink the koolaid but Golson's transfer has tempered my expectations. It's so rare for a QB to go a complete season without a bad game. Without the comfort of a prepared backup QB (I'll believe in Kizer when I see production) and without a proven defense, I can't expect anything more than 2 losses.

We return some players and we have alot of starts on our roster but I'm in show me mode. Every year I pump up my expectations only to be let down. Kelly & Co need to show up and show out.
