I made it last season but I don't foresee anything changing between now and Saturday. Too busy. I'm not gonna run down the whole thing, but it starts off with shipping up to boston, then the rocky theme song, fight song in the middle, and ends with the nd alma mater

My girlfriend might break up with me if ND loses on saturday. This is her first time being around me for an ND game because we have only been dating for three months. Could be glorious. Could be a disaster. Stay tuned for sunday morning.

Funny stuff...My current girlfriend came over to watch the Notre Dame/Nevada game last season. It was basically one of the first times we had hung out. Anyways, I'm pretty crazy when it comes to these games and I drank a shit ton of beer. I think I started around 9 and well anyways. Two 30 packs later, End up getting in a big brawl and going to jail. She stuck with me, I think she enjoyed the passion I put into the games. So basically we've been together a year on Saturday. So I think if she can make it through that, I think yours will make it through. They won't lose though. So you have nothing to worry about. Although we have an apartment now she says I need to tone it down. That won't happen.

Wait, do you mean with your girlfriend?

I don't drink before or during games anymore after what I did at the FSU spring game.

My real only pre-season ritual is the night before I cry my eyes out watching Rudy.
I need to start a gameday ritual....i just always get really excited all day and lash out at people asking me why.lol.
then whenever we score a touchdown i always do some weird little jig...i dont know why, it just sort of came into being when i was in college.

God no, I guess it came off that way. No went to some persons house it was like a 4 on 2 fight. Got hit with a razor scooter. Beat up some guys dad. Then went to jail. While she waited at my house. I guess I should have been specific.

I met my wife in October, 3 months later we were invited over one of my friends (who happens to be the bartender at my local watering hole) house to watch my beloved Giants play the Eagles in the 2006 NFC wildcard game. Let me just say that after that day I knew I would marry her if she could put up with the display at my friends place! She has never gone with me anywhere to watch a game since, but she stayed, so thats good!

My girlfriend went to a couple Bengals games with me last season. So I think she just gets it and knows what to expect.

Is it bad that a got a chuckle from this part?

Well the spring game I drank more than my usual four beers. When I see free stuff, I tend to over indulge. I sucked at drinking games (corn hole was a disaster!) and was hitting on a server from the bar I regular (if irishisman is reading this, take a wild guess who she is). I somehow actually made it into the stadium where I proceeded walk into people.

I left during halftime with a buddy to go to a bar near the stadium, which I was against as I would actually have to spend money. After that we went to the bar we regular and I met a fellow Notre Dame fan. We drank as if we knew each other, when apparently (at this point I blacked out) I was rumored to have gotten into a fight, which I didn't believe one bit. The next week the owner of the bar told me that I did not get into a fight (I've never fought, why would I start now?) and the other dude got into a fight. The next day I had to work and I basically said fuck that and called in sick.

That's my reason I will never drink at the very least tailgates again. The worst part was that the game was just not as fun when I was drunk. I'll stick to my four beers after the game.

I actually dusted off "The Program" and watched it tonight. Been years since I saw it, and honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Alot of movies I liked in college, when watching years wiser have diminished in my eyes. This one hasn't. It's not a great movie by any means, just not as bad as I thought it would be watching it years later.

12:30 drink
1:00 drink
1:30 drink more
2:00 SHOT TIME!!- Irish Car Bomb!!!
2:30 have an orgasmic moment as my Irish take the field
Please note that I am on CST.

I don't give a rat's patootie how early you start your pre-game warm-up. Start as early as you'd like, or just keep going from Friday night. Just make sure that you're awake come the final whistle.

I thought that IN went all-in on the standard and daylight savings time thing. No matter. Start at 9:30 AM with a Bloody Mary if that helps. Veggies and all that healthy stuff. Personally I prefer a hybrid Bloody Mary/Bloody Bull: V-8 dosed with beef broth, horseradish, Tabasco, Worcestershire, black pepper, ground celery seeds and as much Vodka as you see fit. Salt brightens the flavor, but go lightly with it ... this is a health food after all.

My wife figured out how to make hot wings from northest PA where I'm from, so I'll be starting the "My wife makes me hot wings" ritual this year. My daughter, 17 1/2 months as of kickoff(Mom got induced at 7 A.M. on March 16th, my little girl waited til 12:11 A.M. on St Patty's Day to come out!) will finally fit into her ND cheerleader outfit this year that my grandfather got for her. He got it big so she'd get a whole season out of it! I'll be dressing her up in her outfit, while Mom, the Iowa fan, sits her ass in the kitchen and makes me hot wings! HAHAHAHA!

I hope that's how it turns out, anyway...

I also tend to go on a bit of a spending spree to update my Irish wardrobe. I just bought this sweet lid from lids, it might have to make an appearance at Giants Stadium vs Navy!

hwl

that's one sweet hat. i got a new dome piece as well, but it's for the colder climate. it looks like a helmet essentially w/out the facemask.

One of the first time you two hung out was watching an ND football game? That's pretty ballsy. That might be the funniest story I've heard all week. You've got a keeper.

My girlfriend and I have been together around a year as well - she's bought me tickets to the Winter Classic, Bruins Playoff Games, and even went with me and put up with me after the licking the Pats took against the Ravens. She was thinking about buying me season tix to the Bruins this year and instead is thinking about taking me to South Bend. What a lady.

Oh yeah - and she took me to see Hootie. That's clutch.

Friday is another warchant.com cowgirl meetup. This time around I will be dressed in all ND gear so you guys know it's me in the pictures. I haven't spoken to Gene in a while (I did text him on Friday to text him that James Wilder Jr. looked like garbage). I'll try to get info if you guys have questions.

Thursday night - start mixing homemade bloody mary mix so it has time to develop the flavors. I also might start the marinade for the tri-tip. Probably will have Rudy on while cooking.

Friday morning - wake up and say "GO IRISH" first thing in the morning (household tradition on Friday and Saturday of game week - wife does it too. I tried for the Friday and Saturday game week morning bj, but the wife wasn't too keen on starting that tradition). Don Irish gear for "casual Friday" (boss is an SC fan). Watch Irish pump up videos or an old game on the computer at lunch.

Friday evening - finish prep and mise en place for gameday food. Start drinking Irish Pudding (pint of Guinness with a shot of Southern Comfort and shot of Drambuie). Get ready for drunken pregame Friday blogging with NDinL.A. and anyone else online. Rudy or another good sports movie (Miracle, The Rookie, HOOSIERS et al) will be on in the background.

Saturday morning - get up with a "GO IRISH!!!" once again. Quick shower, cook some breakfast, and pour the first bloody mary of the day. Sip the drink while watching game day, maybe blog a little. Text some SC fans to talk smack. Another bloody mary then put on all ND gear and great ready for kick off. Just prior to kick off, switch to drinking Guinness and put out first round off appetizers. Settle in for an afternoon of good food, good drink, and hopefully lots of Irish touchdowns.

We hung out a couple of times but nothing serious. Yeah but that was pretty much one of the first times. Definitely a keeper. She got to see me in my natural environment. Glad I amused you
