I'll say it again TTT, you're as much a part of our success as Saban. I always laughed about the uproar over the "$60,000 SUV" Trent drove that turned out to be a very used vehicle with a Blue Book value of about $4000.

What? This Is about the funniest post I've read in years.

There has been an aroma coming out of Cameron for a long time. You don't land all of these 5 & 4 star players year after year without some help.

Coach K and Duke has been given a free pass for years. Now I don't believe Coach K has any direct knowledge of wrongdoing when it comes to Duke and recruiting 5 star players. And his recent comments suggest that he doesn't ascertain the gravity of the pay for play and trial that just ended and just how dirty CBB currently is. But there are (and have been) some shady stuff over the years that the NCAA has turned a blind eye to.

Not buying it my friend. You don't spend all that time over the years in HS gyms watching these travel teams and talking to shoe guys and not know what's going on.

Yupp. I played AAU ball growing up and even as a kid just walking around it was easy to see the money being talked about on the sideline of games. Or, your teammate telling you about X coach calling and offering him skateboards, shoes, cash, video games, etc. They don't try to hide it at all, as early as age 14. Some even younger. The business of basketball is dirty. Anyone involved with it knows that it's happening, it's impossible not to. Then you have to decide if you're willing to participate, or steer clear. I tend to believe that Duke picked the former, as with most successful programs. Coach K himself may not be doing it, but I'd be surprised if someone in or around his program isn't.

I definitely believe that he's aware, but proving that someone is aware is difficult (see Urban Meyer). But I will say I don't think he is the one contacting the kids and offering the benefits (see Arizona's basketball coach).

He's an untouchable imo though. So nothing will happen to him.

Pitino tried the whole "I wasn't aware" defense a few times. It will catch up to Coach K just as it did at Louisville

Yes, from Avenatti lol... tweeting after he was arrested on extortion of Nike this morning.

Tmrw at 11 am ET, we will be holding a press conference to disclose a major high school/college basketball scandal perpetrated by @Nike that we have uncovered. This criminal conduct reaches the highest levels of Nike and involves some of the biggest names in college basketball.
— Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) March 25, 2019

The tweet came before he was arrested. Both these articles do a pretty good job of explaining the timeline of events. Nike had been taping conversations with him and kept buying time. They had a conversation earlier today where he they said they couldn't get to his demands in time so he tweeted the following. That's when the federal investigators chose to act.

I guess he made a good choice in choosing not to run for President in 2020. LOL

They had been prepared it might get to this as he told them what his plan was from the beginning or since last week. Either you give in to my demands or I'll blast you in a press conference prior to Nike's quarterly earnings. They kept taping him and putting off the "payments", I would assume, to build a stronger case until he gave them a final ultimatum this morning and that last tweet.

Glad the guy went down, but really hope we find out what he was going to be real. Based on his tweet, guessing he does have something.

It does seem fairly reasonable that the same thing that is going on with some other (Adidas) schools could be happening at some of the big Nike schools. I don't think that'd surprise people.

I just hope whatever he has comes out. would love to see him go out in a blaze of glory with some hey makers against CBB and Nike.

He's had a bad year. Kav is now on the SC. Stormy has to pay Trump's legal fees, Stormy fires him, Trump vindicated, charged in two different states for a variety of crimes, bankrupted, and in jail.... poor guy

I think the feds were literally waiting for that tweet & as soon as it was sent out they pounced b/c they had what they needed. Reportedly, Avenatti’s accomplice is celebrity attorney Mark Geragos who currently represents Colin Kaepernick & Jussie Smollett.

I actually believe that there is some truth to it but find it absolutely awesome he's gotten completely hosed early on with this.
