So who does Auburn hire? Freeze obviously wasn't getting the job done, but it's one thing to fire a bad coach and something entirely different to be able to replace him with someone better. This is a bad cycle to be looking for a new HC as there are a lot of schools chasing only a few proven winners. I think LSU and UF will get first pick, with Auburn having to hope they can find a HC in the discount bin that will exceed all expectations. I don't know of any big name they can get. I'm not gonna lie and say I'm sorry to see it happen, but I imagine they're going to have another Chizik/Malzahn/Freeze type hire that they all think is the next legend, but quickly disappoints. Lather, rinse, repeat on The Plains.

Auburn wishes they could hire another Malzahn. I don't know what they were thinking.

Auburn wishes they could hire another Malzahn. I don't know what they were thinking.

Malzahn started off strong & beating Saban kept him there as long as he was but it finally had to end. Then they hired Freeze presumably b/c he, too; has experience beating Saban & it ended horribly…other than his golf handicap.

Get Sumrall & sit back and watch the chaos w/ their fellow conference members scrambling for their next HC. When Kentucky fires Stoops next year, how pissed will their fanbase be that Sumrall will be off the market…LOL
