I know a lot of names have been thrown around... Charlie Weis Jr. will probably get some looks... Once these big 'Holes', i.e., P$U, LSU, FL etc are filled..... he should get a chance... I wouldn't say SEC material just yet but, there will be a couch to sit on from AAC, etc.....

Which of the recently fired coaches do we think has the best chance of landing somewhere and having some success?

It's kind of amazing to me that LSU is going to eat this big buyout for Kelly now after they just ate one for Coach O about 3 years ago. Wasn't LSU (Or maybe it was just the state of Louisiana) in a hole financially like...3-5 years ago? Maybe it was farther back, I don't remember. I know the state is like $16 billion in debt or something.
You don't get that far in debt by being fiscally responsible.

LSU isn't paying for Kelly's buyout, a booster is.

Spencer Danielson gives me major Marcus Freeman vibes. Authentic relationship builder who gets the most out of his guys.

The biggest question mark is - Can he assemble a high quality staff if given a shot at a "prominent" program.

You are correct about the state. Looks like private money is going to take care of the buyout.

I don’t know, but the supply is falling well short of the demand, meaning we may see some position coaches & coordinators getting gigs they ordinarily wouldn’t have a chance at.

I’d worry about Mickens, Guduigli, &/or Denbrock, if the Cincy job opened up. Satterfield doing well & may jump at NC St if they move on from Doeren.

Will Tom O’Brien get canned at BC or just decide he’d rather be an OC in the NFL? Al Washington was in the running last go around.

Good news is that ND is paying their staff well so hopefully they can be picky about what offers they entertain…if any arise.

As long as they stay away from Marcus we will suffice. I think it's only a matter of time before we lose Mickens so we might as well just enjoy the ride with him as long as it lasts.

He's been at Boise State since he was a GA. Going on 8 years. Grew up in Southern California. Its an interesting one because he's got ties to Boise State now considering that's really all that's on his resume. Maybe he likes it there? Hard to know what his reach would be. He's basically been on the West Coast his entire life.

I would think UCLA has contacted Danielson already. If Dillingham leaves ASU, they'd surely reach out.

if theres anyone who would pull a BK and leave a team high and dry its Lane surely not?
For sure.

When your past has an incident where you not only leave your current team close to signing day, but you actively call Tennessee recruits that were early enrolling and telling them not to go to class. SMH

The SEC is definitely wary of hiring a BSU guy after the Harsin fiasco at Auburn.

Makes me think some long time coaches like the Matt Campbell and PJ Fleck types are going to get stupid money that they cant refuse thrown at them.

I believe it.

True, but I also think guys like Franklin and Napier are probably going to get good offers too. Imagine Sumrall gets hired at a P4 job. I think Napier could step into Tulane and do just fine. Maybe even a Virginia Tech or UNC type of scenario too.

This really might be the year when the guys like Campbell, Fleck, Jason Candle, etc. can no longer say no.

Urban is a good coach and I've always liked him. But he's let too much time pass for me to worry worry about him on the trail. Last time he coached, kids he will be recruiting were in elementary school....with no memory of Tebow and that UF run.

I would love that honestly. Without Saban or BK there's a dearth of proper villians in college football right now (at least from a Head Coach perspective).

At the very least he’ll probably keep in state kids there, and with the success ND has been having in Pennsylvania, I’d rather not
