Big jump for Moore...idk

Could say the same thing about Freeman, Lanning, Lincoln Riley, etc. - all programs that are/are closer to "blue blood" status than Mizzou. Clark Lea, too.

If not Moore, who? I don't see an ideal candidate out there for them if/when Drink leaves.

They are probably in the same boat of candidates we've been seeing for months. Silverfield, Golesh, Sumrall, etc. Drinkwitz had one year at Appalachian State and ended up at Mizzou. Pinkel came from Toledo, I believe? They would have to play the G5 game again or promote Moore and hope he ends up being their Freeman.

If the kids and fans like him, that's a lot of pressure.

Correct, Pinkel did come from Toledo. He was the HC at UT for 9 years.

An SEC coach moving to the B1G? SEC strokers will be saying he did it because he couldn't win in the SEC. Not because it's a better job.

Mizzou is a teenager in the SEC. I don't even think they have hit 15 years in yet.

You're not wrong, but They can say whatever. Penn State is a better job than Mizzou.

UCLA 247 said Bob Chesney is their #1 target at this stage

Rees getting some tossing mentions at UCLA as well

From a regional standpoint, this is interesting. His career has been retained exclusively to the Northeast to this point. PSU and VT have been interested.

PSU is supposedly keyed in on Chesney and Key from GT. Al Golden and Pat Fitzgerald are names that are also being kicked around. There is a contingent of PSU supporters who are championing Fitzgerald.

The Athletic mentioned Brian Daboll as well.

Feels like if one domino falls, the rest can start to get going. If Franklin and VT goes final, maybe that gets things moving with some of the others.

Couple quick thoughts: I think there’s no chance that Franklin ends up at VT. Feels like the offer has been out there for a while and he’s been slow playing it to see what his other options are. Feels like the Hokies leaked it out to force his hand. Seems as if he wants and is waiting on FSU.

Lockesly had an interesting quote about the state of Maryland football over the offseason, he compared them to Macys. He said just like Macys loses their customers to higher and lower end stores, they lose their best players to high end programs and their depth to g5 programs. He also said that’s why both places are struggling. I don’t care how broke you are, I don’t get how you keep a coach who is saying it’s impossible for this program to succeed

He isn't wrong though, unless the university throws a ton of money at a roster.

Macy's sells Abercrombie now. Not that it's super relevant to this conversation...but 2004 me would be slightly shocked at that development.

If you are Ole Miss, would you tell Lane to pound sand if he refuses to sign the contract proposal? While that sounds absurd on the surface there is nothing stopping Lane from taking players with him if/when he leaves. All the while Ole Miss stands still waiting for him to leave. Really tough spot.

Elko was the only name that would have been firing JF during the season worth it. They've screwed themselves. Now your old coach is going to be recruiting all the same kids he was before and you don't have anyone to get in his way.

I know he’s fun to shit on, but I think Penn St is gonna regret this
He'd definitely earned the right to have a disappointing season after making the semis and taking over the program after a sex abuse scandal.

If he rebuilds VT to respectability, it will be hard to argue he's not a very good coach.

To be clear - I find him off putting and the Orange Bowl presser was beyond patronizing.
