Notre Dame’s defensive graduate assistant will change but the post will remain with a former captain.
Irish Illustrated has learned that Kyle McCarthy, who joined the program last off-season as a graduate assistant and spent the bulk of last season beating cancer, has left Notre Dame to pursue a career in the sports agency field. He’ll be replaced on staff by former Irish linebacker and two-time captain Maurice Crum.
Crum is already listed in the school’s online directory with the formal announcement of his hire a matter of human resources. Crum was a four-year starter at Notre Dame after emerging as a three-star prospect out of Tampa Bay Tech.
