Has anyone here heard this today? But on ESPN web-site:College Football Rumors - Rumor Central -NCAA - ESPN It's a rumor that JC might enter the NFL draft next year.

It's just speculation and conjecture at this point. Maybe he will, maybe he won't, I bet he waits to hear if his fifth year eligible linemen plan to return. I can't imagine making that decision during the season and in between games.

Whats happened to Bradford is on everybodys mind & this just gives the media another web to weave. Come January it'll be a little less prevalent.

In all honesty, I think he stays. Jimmy's a competitor & wants that national title.

Whether or not this has legs, I don't know, but you have to remember, ESPN is in the business to make money, as for it's just rumor and usually if there is a rumor, there is money to be made.

I remember hoping to see him on the field, to see what he could do, as an undersized freshman in 2007. He was shell-shocked and overwhelmed. Now, barely 2 years later, he is a heisman contender and a leader, fighting injuries and a weak defense for 4th quarter wins. I didn't think anyone could fill Quinns shoes, Jimmy did, but I'm not sure Dayne will either. I hope he stays, breaks all the records, and makes a run at the NC. Beats being a Mark Sanchez-type.

I heard a rumor the other day as well,...

I think Jimmy will declare, Bradfords injurys etc will play their part, especially as we have 3of our O-line heading for pastures new next year, and it's not like we have an elite running game to fall back on is it? It wasn't that long ago, that Jimmy needed a shovel to get himself upright, after getting planted something like 34 times!?!

Draft "expert" Scott Wright on his blog wrote his Oct. 20th entry about Jimmy's pro potential, development of the past couple seasons, and little about whether he'll leave or not which he commented "sources close to the Notre Dame program aren’t very optimistic". He also gave some props to CW which I liked.

Well, we are just rambling till January - obviously no one declares till after the season.
If he did... we should go with Crist the following weekend.
We are a year away and if someone isn't commited to 2010 and that National Championship we need someone who is for the/that team and preparing for that end result.

He Really wants to go to the nfl especially after the nfl passed on his two brothers.

I think he stays for a couple of reasons.

1. another year under CW to prepare him for the nfl

and

2. McCoy, bradford, tebow, Clark, and possibly locker will all be coming out this year, which leaves a pretty crowded QB class.

if he waits he could be the lone big name at QB next year

I think there are numerous things Jimmy needs to consider before declaring. However, the biggest reason I think will be because of Mike Floyd. I think Floyd talks him into staying another year, because he needs him in order to get picked high in the draft.

Plus, I think Jimmy wants another shot at UCS, a shot at a National Championship, Heismann, accolades, and needs/wants to see his job finished at ND.
