I think it's pretty shitty to speak ill of the dead and make baseless speculations on his death, especially towards an alumni that had a big heart and someone most people only had kind things to say about his character. No one reported that it was a possible suicide. He was a good dude who took care of his struggling mother and was the victim of an unprovoked shooting prior to his death.
I've never uttered a single unkind word about Louis Nix. Acknowledging a realistic possibility is very different than making baseless speculation, and it's very different than making a negative judgment about somebody. As to media reporting, why would they say, "This may have been accidental or it may have been deliberate"? It's not their job to point out things we should be able to comprehend on our own.

However, I'm now looking into the issue further, and I find suicide unlikely. A witness reportedly saw a car driving the wrong way down the road and striking the median before going into the pond. This tells me that this wasn't a relatively dignified attempt to end his own suffering. Sounds like this was Louis being a jackass and endangering everyone on or near the road. Still, there are reasons behind every drink, every behavior. Perhaps it's for the best that Louis is resting in peace.

It’s really not your place to speculate on the circumstances surrounding his death.

This guy is probably going to get stupid money thrown at him in the weeks and months ahead. It's going to take a lot to say no.

I’ll say it again, as a resident argumentative SOB here, you really don’t need to weigh in and debate everyone on everything here daily. It’s reaching exhausting levels.

People need to understand that Vandy has the money to match any offer.
I assume Pavia is eventually going to run out of eligibility. I want to see what that looks like once he does.

More than anything else after that, Clark Lea needs to keep Jerry Kill as close to his program as possible. Bringing Jerry Kill onboard at Vanderbilt alone makes Clark Lea a smart dude.

I've learned to just sort of ignore him. Every engagement with him ends the same. You (not you personally, the general "you") take position X, he takes position Y. After a lengthy back and forth he feigns confusion because he says he's really held position X the entire time and can't understand why you're arguing with him. Rinse and repeat.

Yeah, I like Clark Lea a lot, and root for him as a coach, but he could be a Diego Pavia merchant. I will say in Lea's defense, Pavia hasn't actually played very well this year if you watch the games and look at the stats. The Heisman hype he's getting is completely unwarranted. Ty Simpson and Fernando Mendoza are much more deserving. Hell, Love is way more deserving.

I agree. I do think Pavia's intangibles are helping galvanize the program. They have a good team. It seems similar to the Harbaugh/Shaw Stanford program. There is a toughness about Vanderbilt. Hard hat, lunch bucket kind of guys.

We know Lea can coach. We know Pavia brings something at QB1. Lea has Jerry Kill behind the scenes consulting. He's got a good thing going. He's either going to have his pick of a new job or Vanderbilt will invest to keep him. It all started with Elko bolting for TAMU and BK retaining Lea as DC.

All of this. I’ve been to 1 game in campus. Senior Day for LNIII. Seeing him come out of the tunnel (hurt) and hug his mom was awesome. RIP Big Fella.

Let's not pretend we're the same guy. Some of our loudest differences:

1) I admit when I'm mistaken (including twice in conversation with you over the past 48 hours)
2) I show love for other people's contributions
3) I have a sense of humor

I find your repetition ironic given your claim, but I'm more than willing to allow your exhaustion.

LOL. I'll be sure to check in with you next time I want to think about or discussing something, or heaven forbid, acknowledge unknowns.
Maybe you should do that if your own judgment doesn’t cause you to think twice before writing two paragraphs jumping to conclusions on a beloved former player’s tragic death. My PMs are open.

Yes a quick poll will turn out SportsingHard is a humorous, loving poster for sure
Really? You're just going to keep denying/erasing the fact that I happily admit any time I'm mistaken, including in this thread? We're not alike, son. We're not alike at all.

I get the feeling guys like Clark Lea and Brent Key at Georgia Tech want to accomplish something at their alma mater before leaving. I could see them going in time if the timing is right, but if Vandy misses the playoff this year I don't see Lea being willing to leave Nashville.

I think if Lea takes Vandy to a playoff game win or lose he can check the "I did something big" box.

Both are true I suppose.

Even though you could classify the accomplishment as "I did something big", I can't envision a scenario where Lea would leave Vanderbilt until it's reached it's apex. If it was apparent that Lea has taken Vanderbilt as far as it can go, then there's a possibility he would consider other options.

He talks like he is much older than Koon, in terms of memory and being alive for certain events. I believe someone else said he is another banned user, but I forget who.

Maybe he is Koon's dad
Downvotes my post re going to Louis Nix III Senior Day game and stating may he RIP. All I need to know about him. Trash.
