And I hate to sound like a broken record, but as I have posted on several threads, what the hell got into them? There have been multiple comments on numerous threads since yesterday about how they looked "fired up," "played with heart," "played with intensity," "looked tough," etc., etc., etc. I agree wholeheartedly, I just wish I could figure out what lit the fire? I know nobody here can say for sure, but I wish Cierre would have addressed that. We should have been beating the hell out of people all season instead of being pushed around like a bunch of shopping carts.

Kelly addressed it. He said what you saw was the process beginning to work. The team is on a journey it began when he was hired. These are the first fruits.

That's the "coach" answer. While I think there's some truth to it, I think the guys did a good job circling the wagons. They were faced with a ton of adversity and it made them stronger.

Finally, football is played by two teams. I don't think anyone on Utah would say they played their best game.

IF the Irish do become "bowl eligible", it would more than likely be a late Dec. bowl. I doubt that a 6-6 or 7-5 Irish team will be playing a Jan. bowl game. I wish that I would be wrong, but ....

While I do agree with BKs reasoning I think it had a lot to do with their reflections. They looked like they all spend the past 2 weeks looking at themselves in the mirror. They played tougher and with more unity than I've seen in quite some time. Although it may have been thr reflection pool not a mirror!
