I think the biggest need for the White Sox is the following or biggest priorities:
1. Sign Murakami to an extension. I'd do a 5 year 125 million dollar deal.
2. Trade for a pitcher with 2-3 years of control. A number 2 or 3 starter quality.
3. Trade for a legit closer. Chapman maybe.
4. Lock Montgomery up for the long term. I'd like to see a 8 year deal worth 175-200 Million.
5. Lock up Vargas long term. 6 year deal worth 150 Million.
6. This offseason go out and sign the best pitcher available.

Jerry will trade all of them for prospects. He doesn’t do big contracts anymore.

Sox are a MLB feeder team.

Justin Ishbia is expected to take controlling interest of the White Sox between 2029-2034. Under a long-term investment agreement, Jerry Reinsdorf holds the option to sell his stake to Ishbia between 2029 and 2033, while Ishbia has the option to buy after the 2034 season.

At this stage in my life, the white sox have made me a causal fan... so can anyone tell me if any of these guys will help us make and succeed in the postseason?

I really think Getz loves this years draft and is willing to give up players he feels will get surpassed over the next few years to help this years team.
Basically, all veteran depth moves.
My .02 cents.

Doyle is a defensive no hit center fielder who was on the IL for most of the season up until recently. His contract is up.

Castillo has been bad. He's 34 in December and they're taking on all of his contract.

Brazoban has been solid for the Mets, but turns 37 in October. His contract is up.

It's hard to look at this and really know what to make of it. They have a four game lead in the loss column on Cleveland. I'm not sure if this makes them that much better, if any at all.

These are all low-risk/low-reward deals. Basically, the Sox dealt little to nothing to bank on dudes who have shown high level ability but are in slumps and hoping a change of scenery can get them out of it.

I'm not banking on it, but at this point, Sox are playing with house money.

They also had a salary dump with SerAntonys contract as well

Not that it makes it much less of a head-scratcher, but Brenton Doyle is under team control through 2029.

The analysts on local ChiSox baseball is the worst I’ve ever heard
On CHSN?

Honestly when they have Dan Plesac on he’s pretty good. Schriffen is growing on me. Steve Stone is knowledgeable but he takes half the season off.

Schriffen is PBP.
Plesac is color.

Dan Plesac, I think is good. Schriffen replaced Benetti and is not highly regarded, but his excitement in big moments is palpable and pretty fun.
