Boy, I have to say the sox surprised me this year. I really thought that after the adam la rouche incident, that was a sign of things to come for the season. Have to say that im pleasantly surprised. But dang, that cubs team is the real deal this year

I have my doubts the city would survive an all Chicago World Series. Heck, the idea of the Cubs in a world series alone would be enough to hire a few hundred extra Police officers for those next few weeks alone.

But if that's the kind of production we're getting out of our bullpen, I have my doubts about the Sox making it that far. The second game in a row that the Sox bullpen blew the lead and this was ridiculous.

Good point, that would be alot of overturned cars and bonfires. I think the sox will fizzle out over time. At least we are heading in the right direction again

They have to go 67-61 to win 90 games this year. They may fizzle, but this start is putting them in good position to win the division. Once you get into the playoffs, the top of their rotation matches up with anyone.

That was tough to see last night, but the sox can definitely use that upcoming day off to rest the pen.

As of this morning the Sox bullpen is:

Record is 5-1

WAR = 2nd
ERA = 4th
Holds = 2nd
HR = 1st
AVG = 3rd
WHIP = 5th

Across the board, the 2nd best pen in MLB thus far. The sky is still up, way up.

I envision a shit-ton of neg reps coming my way if Sox and Cubs are in the world series together, LOL. Those guys are sensitive.

Is it time to fire Ventura yet? This team has gone down the sh*tter in a millisecond. Only Ventura could take a team with this much talent and have this kind of skid.

Don't follow this team but expected them not to hold that pace. When is Sales turn? Aces shutdown losing streaks. I expect Porcello to an extent but certainly Price to do that for my squad....true aces stop the bleeding.

The problem is that Sale has helped stop their skids three times already, and they just continue to lose afterwards. Now Sale and Q can't get the run support and have their rare bad game, and it has begun to avalanche.

I can't pin any blame on the pitching rotation. They have been good recently, 1 through 5. The offense and the bullpen have blown game after game after game. It's pathetic.

Maybe what is pathetic is fans expecting this team to be better then what they actually are...I mean the White Sox just aren't as good as their cross town rivals.

Well you'd be wrong then. The White Sox are plenty good from a team perspective. They wouldn't have started 23-10 if they weren't, and they beat a bunch of quality teams to get there. Anyone who's watched them this month know that the two things that have caused them to slump are:

- Ventura has absolutely zero concept of when to pull his pitchers. It has cost them half of their losses.

- They have zero ability to drive runners in. They have zero patience at the plate. Normally, I'd pin that on the hitting coach, but this is the third one under Ventura, so that falls on him.

It basically boils down to Ventura not having any flipping clue what he's doing. He should have been fired after 2014.

IDK man, if you say so. I just don't think they are all that good. A great start of course but water is starting to find it's level.

Seriously doubt the Sox stay in the division race the whole season.

Agree. The Royals and Tigers are starting to click, further complicating this awful stretch.

The Royals are my guess to take the division...I bet they go on a run this summer. Sox finish at best third, maybe fourth. And then you have the Twins...geesh (13 wins to date).

The bullpen has been awful and has done a far more majority of losing the games. I'm also on the fire Robin train, but not during the season.

The bullpen has collapsed because Ventura has zero concept of timing. He can't manage a bullpen to save his bloody life.

If Ventura stays put, then I can't see this team playing up to their potential. He's just too much of a hazard. You've had so many opportunities to win games, undone because your manager can't teach consistent plate discipline or has zero understanding of how to manage a bullpen.

I've reached the point of no return. I have black-listed the White Sox until they fire that embarrassment of a manager. He has had more than enough time to turn things around and we've been more than patient during this build. He shows zero situational awareness for the game, zero concept of plate discipline and zero ability to manage a bullpen. Robin will be remembered as a White Sox legend as a player, but he has to be considered the single worst manager in the history of this franchise.

If Jesus was coaching this team they'd end up 3rd or 4th in the AL Central. Take your glasses off.

You're joking right? This isn't a new concept. Ventura should have been fired after the 2014 season. He finally has a squad with cohesion and talent, and low and behold he garners a huge lead in the division. And within 4 weeks time, he's pissed that lead away. No, the talent is there. This is a 1st place team, but the management could find a way to finish 6th in this division.

Any White Sox fan can confirm that Ventura is the #1 problem.

I'm not kidding and didn't waste my time reading half of your rant. They are not that good. Fight it if you want.

Go ahead and think that. We know better. Ventura left Kahnle out there to get tortured, and brought in a closer in a non-save situation. His track record is more than sufficient evidence to support the claim that he's the problem.

It's the ebbs and flows of baseball. Sox aren't a 100 win team, with all the hot streaks (beginning of the season) come the slumps (now). I do however think guys like Frazier, Lawrie, and Sale could turn this into a team contending for a WC spot. It's May 28 and there are 112 games left to be played lol

Normally, I'd agree. There are streaks and slumps teams go into, but this isn't just the natural ebb and flow of the game. It's a serious problem, because of the way they've lost. Half of these losses were because of Ventura's inability to manage his bullpen without being an incompetent sh*tbag. Of course, why should we expect him to anything else? He's never managed the game of baseball prior to being hired here, which further questions why the hell he was hired in the first place. It just makes these losses all the more infuriating, knowing we have the talent to compete, but he manages to piss away game after game and series after series.

I just don't see this team righting the ship with him as the manager. They haven't done so in 3+ seasons, so why would they start now?

Things like blowing a 6 run lead in the bottom of the 9th isn't "ebb and flow." It's "cataclysmic failure."
