I believe the comments on Eloy were that he’s “happy go lucky” or something to that effect. Just a big ole kid who’s not super focused and doesn’t always work the hardest. What he needs is solid veteran leadership—not what he’s currently getting from the Sox.

Moncada is 28. Anderson is 30. Eloy is 26. Robert is 25. Vaughn is 25. Sheets is 27. These guys have been around a bit now, since prior to Covid for the most part.

They've all gotta go. The answer is not this front office hiring managers like LaRussa and Ozzie from yesteryear. The answer, sadly, is for Jerry to sell the team and new leadership comes in to burn it all down. Goodbye Kenny, Rick and everyone associated with this front office. They have to start anew.

Players and agents are going to see very clearly that these idiots have been allowed to fail over and over again only to stay in their leadership roles. It's a joke. Hence why nobody is going to ever come here.

None of them care.

They go through the motions, everyone keeps their jobs at the end, they start all over in February when pitchers and catchers report.

Laziness and team cancers would not have been tolerated in the clubhouse.
This exact same regime, which is completely responsible for the flaming dumpster of shit we're seeing right now, fired him 12 years ago. Then he went to Florida and crashed out of there. He has not been in baseball since. Why would you rehire LaRussa only to let him leave and then rehire Ozzie Guillen two years later thinking this is a solution? It's the same principle. The answer isn't to keep rehiring managers who already been employed here. It's a franchise mired in failure for over a century. Flush the damned toilet of your entire past and let it go to the sewer for good and all.

To suggest rehiring Ozzie and be serious about it is a perfect reflection of how this isn't a serious franchise and how they have completely caused much of their own fan base complete frustration or abnormal slowness of rational thought. Quite frankly, does Ozzie even want to work for these assholes again? He's been there done that already.

Nobody gives a fuck when the chairman has had the same front office for the last two decades. The players see this and realize that what they do doesn't matter. The issues are systemic beginning with Jerry, Kenny and Rick. What is Pedro Grifol supposed to do with a team full of goofs when his superiors are a front office full of goofs? You can't cure a systemic issue by continuing to bring people into the organization who have already been there and have failed. Jerry would have to either A) sell the team or B) get rid of Kenny and Rick. He's not doing either of those things.

Now would an organization that's not serious do an unserious thing and hire Ozzie Guillen? Probably. There would be some pockets of people who would love it and buy tickets. Then, guess what happens next? The same damn thing we've been seeing happen over and over again. Failure.

All I know is that Ozzie won a world series, and won another division title after that. He would be the right man to focus the talent we had on the last couple of teams. I truly believe that he would relate to the latino base of the team, but also get in their ass that apparently is needed.

I tend to agree with this and said so when they were in the hiring process.

Pedro Grifol doesn’t seem to move the needle with the Latino base and her certainly doesn’t get into anyone’s ass. Guy makes Jerry Manuel look like Lou Piniella.

So his main qualification is that he was the last manager to experience success in a franchise that is generally void of success. The Marlins had one year of him and said enough. He never managed again.

Guillen being manager really doesn't solve the problem. This front office already hired him and fired him. It would be something that Jerry would make them do (see LaRussa). I'm sure there is some Latino red ass that isn't Ozzie and hasn't played for the White Sox they could bring in to yell at everybody and win 75 games, but not even that gets to the root of the issue with this franchise.

Either Jerry sells or Jerry fires Kenny and Rick. Only way this ends is with either of those scenarios.

1000% players are watching this shitshow unfold and are going to call current and recent ex players about playing here. It’s going to hurt signing players, almost as much as Jerry not opening the checkbook. It is very sad when the largest contract in team history came this year with Bennintendi 5/$75m deal. Good luck competing when you’re not spending and have a terrible developmental process. Shit Sandwich.

They're pretty far beyond this point. It was very similar to the early 2000s after Jerry R. and Jerry K. broke up the Bulls. Tracy McGrady and all those guys made the visits almost as sightseeing tours of the House that Jordan Built. The word was already out by then.

It's no different for the White Sox now. Jake Burger's first day with the Marlins, he hits a walk off and afterwards says it was the most fun he's had in a baseball game in a long time.

Todd Steverson was let go as hitting coach and given a front office job. That says all you need to know about how this organization runs itself.

“Firing a manager or a general manager during the season isn’t always the answer, but it is an answer. But, no. Not here. If there’s one thing we know about Reinsdorf, it’s not just that he sticks to his guns. It’s that he thinks he invented guns.”

That is both beyond pathetic and way too appropriate for this disgrace of an organization.

Hopefully Jerry understands the legacy he is leaving behind. It's one of failure and zero accountability.
Sadly, he doesn't care. He has so much money that nothing else really matters to him. He couldn't wait to break up the best team he ever owned and used his baseball team to siphon money into his bank account. Supposedly they're going to can Hahn and Grifol, but that's not even close to the root of the issue. They'll just replace them internally with more Jerry people. Kenny Williams and his son will stay. Everyone else will stay. There really isn't a point. What I want to know is who in their right mind outside of the organization would want to come here? Grifol ruined his coaching career inside of the first two months of the season.

Jerry is going to be 93 when this stadium lease is up, and he's got quite a sweet deal. He threatened to leave once before. I sincerely hope the city and state call his bluff this time, but we're not anywhere near being ready to discuss a lease that ends in 6 years. There are more important issues to be dealt with. If he wants to leave for Nashville, let him. Otherwise I hope he finally sells and someone comes in that actually gives a shit.

This is classic Jerry.. He is posturing now, so he gets the attention he wants before the lease is up, so the City and State give another sweetheart deal to the franchise. Thus setting his family for more wealth. This was 100% leaked by Jerry or Jerry's agent. If anything just sell. You are 90, no one likes you.

I don't even think Nashville has 700K people living there. How are they going to support Jerry's greed?

Braves, Cardinals and Reds are the biggest roadblocks to Nashville getting a MLB team. Expansion is a more likely scenario than any team relocating.

Problem is Jerry still holds the keys. It’s a start, but if Jerry doesn’t let someone spend, completely revamp scouting, minor league development, and bring on a lot of analytical staff, it doesn’t matter

This is all 100% true, but it was never going to happen with Williams and Hahn in place...so it is start. Williams helped the Sox get a World Series and for that I'm thankful, but this was long overdue really. If I was Hahn I would have bailed as soon as Jerry didn't let me hire Hinch as manager but instead forced TLR on me. It feels like it has been borrowed time for the both of them for a while for sure.

I’m speechless.

If the Bulls are any indicator this won’t change much. I think either Haber or Getz will be promoted. Jerry said in the statement they’re hiring one guy to replace them both.

If Jerry was smart he’d go get people from Tampa. They win in the toughest division in baseball on a shoestring budget
