Two upsets so far, Bowling Green over Pitt and East Carolina over Virgina Tech. go wins for both those teams. so much for the preseason rankings.

No such upset luck for Hawaii and Appalachia St. who got beat handliy by Florida and LSU respectively.

Awesome idea, SoCal.

I felt terribly for Virginia Tech but such is the price of ironically poor special teams play.

Florida looked very good against Hawaii.

And here's to hoping we roll on Pitt like Bowling Green is now.

In other news, Beanie Wells went out of the game with a foot or leg injury. They better hope he is well for next week vs USC.

what the heck is wrong with Virgina. they're playing terrible on offense, terrible on defense, terrible on special teams.

...michigan sucks. the only reason they have 10 points are because of a stupid turnover and a stupid pass interference call.

no joke. since then the offense has done nothing. Utah is making mistakes, keeping them in this game.

I'm pretty sure USC vs. tOSU is week three. USC has a bye week next week and i dont know who tOSU plays.

If we lose to Michigan and/or Pitt we are in serious trouble. I just can't see that happening though. I hope I'm right.

Although, Michigan hasn't lost just yet. They're only down 8 points now.

while the end score was close, the only reason was Utah allowing them back in. They gave Michigan 130 yards in penalties. Two turnovers deep in Utah territory resulting in touchdowns. Utah's offense stalled in the 2nd half with questionable play calling and bad execution. Utah's defense seemed to let up with pressure in the 2nd half. I think the 1st half offensive stats for Michigan say everything.

Now, that doesn't mean they're doomed for the year. But it does mean they better get better quick.

A. If Michigan goes 2-10 this year, I will not ask Santa for anything else.

B. I hope OUR freshman play like Bama's are right now.

Not a good day for future ND opponents so far.

1. Michigan loses (handily IMO) to friggin' Utah;

2, Pitt (how are they ranked 25th??? don't they know that Wandstette (sp) is their coach?) blows a lead and loses to Bowling Green (are you kidding me???)

3. Mich St. is losing to Cal 10-0. To me, this pisses me off because it makes our schedule look THAT much worse.

ND looks HORRIBLE if we lose those games, and if we win we get to hear Mark May destroy us for playing such a soft schedule. Prick. I don't care, as long as we win, but still, I think our team is much improved and it would have been nice to 'upset' Pitt. Haha.

4. Ummm, USC....wow. That is one athletic team. Just...wow. I don't see how anyone in their right minds (GD93) thinks that "USC doesn't really worry me". They are loaded on defense, and now we saw how loaded they are on offense. It'll take a monumental effort for any team to beat them.

One more week!...

Yeah, Didn't Charlie get some special teams advice from Beamer during the offseason. NOT what I wanted to see from a guy we're getting advice from!!!

We will beat Pitt, but Michigan idk. Until I see our OL play i'm still under the assumption their DL will detsory us. That will be a low scoring game though.

Just so everyone knows, San Diego State is down 26-21 to Cal Poly early in the 4th Quarter. Anyone else dissappointed with how the teams on our schedule are doing so far? Only teams that have impressed me are USC and Stanford.

Quick look at our schedule:

SDSU: Losing to Cal Poly 26-21
Michigan: Lost to Utah 25-23
Michigan State: Lost to Cal 38-31
Purdue: Idle
Stanford: Beat Oregon State 36-28
North Carolina: Beat Mcneese State 35-27
Washington: Losing to Oregon 21-10
Pittsburgh: Lost to Bowling Green 27-17
Boston College: Beat Kent State 21-0
Navy: Beat Towson 41-13
Syracuse: Lost to Northwestern 30-10
USC: Beat Virginia 52-7
