And partially torn ACL. Return Date is Unknown. Anthony McDonald also out for the rest of spring practice with partially torn pectoral muscle.
McDonald can just never stay healthy, I feel for the kid. Hopefully Kendall and Poz can step it up in his absence.
McDaniel can't get here soon enough.
Also savon Huggins you wanted early PT...well you would have gotten it here!
And so it begins... injuries are the worst but they are an unavoidable part of sports.
Also, people need to get off the Savon Huggins bug. Sorry, but in my opinion, the way he carried himself throughout the recruitment process made me very uncomfortable.
Amir Carlisle, on the other hand, was a HUGE miss. Seemed like a kid with a very good head on his shoulders. Very religious and picked USC for their film school and educational opportunities. While he will likely be buried on the Trojan depth chart for some time he could have been an immediate contributor in both the passing and running game at ND.
Tough news. Do you think that McDaniel would be able to get a good handle on the offense from June-August and be able to contribute?

Despite both coach Greg Schiano and rising sophomore Jordan Thomas saying that Thomas' move from RB to CB had nothing to do with the summertime arrival of four-star RB Savon Huggins (No. 28 in the ESPNU 150), well, let's just say that we're not buying.
At exit meetings following last season, Schiano claims he asked Thomas, the team's leading rushing in 2010, "What do you want to play? What do you think you are?" Schiano continues: "I was just asking kind of rhetorically. I thought he was going to say, 'I'm a tailback.' (But) he said, 'I'm a shutdown corner.'"
OK, so coach and player are sticking to their story. Regardless, the move does pave the way for Huggins to step right into the starting lineup, where if all goes according to plan, he will be the anchor of the offense for three seasons before seeking NFL riches. Where it leaves Thomas is less certain; he's currently a third-team defender, behind two juniors, a sophomore and a senior.
"You look at NFL teams nowadays and the cornerbacks are starting to get taller, starting to get more lankier and faster," said the 6-foot-1, 188-pound Thomas said. "I was just thinking I would transition very well as a cornerback later on. ... I think I can contribute much more as a cornerback than a running back."
Keep in mind the partially torn ACL though. I will be very happy if he's ready for Fall camp, but that's all I'm hoping for.
